I have disgusting keloid scar on my chest from a large mole removal.

Its nearly 3 years old and is still pinky purplish in colour and alot of people stare, comment and some people have said it looks like a love bite, that comment hurts alot as it makes me feel like a dirty scank!

Can you recommend anything to cover it? its raised and im afraid makup or Skin Camouflage will just make it stand out even more. The only thing I can think of is have the photographer photoshop it out of all the weddign pics. I know that doesnt help on the day

    here is a pic

    mt horrible scar :(

Honestly Hun you've got 10months so I would use bio oil it does work and the reddish colour will go just be patient and keep up with it, every morning just rub it on, worked wonders on a scar I got from a bike accident

Try palm ers cocoa bitter stretch mark cream. It comes in a pump bottle, this should help it between now and your wedding day or bio grease, them get you make up artist to help disguise it a bit more. Also try get a make up artist who uses airbrush make up, meant to be really gd

I agree, Bio oil is brilliant. I had a cyst on my elbow that had to be removed about 2 years ago and I have been using bio oil on it (not as religiously as I should!) and it has faded nicely, though I do find it shows up more if I am cold?! Maybe on the day a tinted moisturiser may help?

I say, our scars are part of who we are, they tell a story, no matter how strange the circumstances, and you can't always change it so try and embrace it!

Not sure of it flattening it out but will certainly make the colour fade even if it's an old scar

tattoo coverup is good, although i dont think anything will make scars flatten out im afraid! my sister had a cyst on her head on her wedding day and looked like she had banged her head badly on one side and it was quite a big lump (the removal wasnt until after the wedding) but her makeup artist did what she could and the photographer edited it out of the photos. i would use a good concealer such as the ones for tattoos but maybe also look for a necklace with a bit of detail/bits hanging from it etc that would sit just right over the scar so it would be covered and no one would notice. 2bh i dont think brides should worry about what other ppl will say about their scars etc as the ppl at the wedding should be the ones who love and care for u and wouldnt even notice a scar, just ur beaming happy face x

Have you tried sally hansen airbrush? It is supposed to be for your legs but I use it wherever as it gives amazing cover. I have bad strech marks on my legs from when I was pregnant, they are still pinky/purple colour and although I use bio oil to doesn't hide them, whereas this tan does. Yon can get it in a light colour so it's not like a dark tan. you can get it in any chemist, and is a little more exspensive than other tans (around £10 a can) but certainley worth a try :)

I was born with a cleft lip and incomplete palatte so have a scar on my top lip. I just use concealer usually. To be fair i have had two fantastic surgeons who have made it hardly noticable unless i point it out but i understand that even if no one else notices you know its there. On your wedding day itself I would say the necklace thing is a good idea. Remember though that your family and friends and your H2B loves you scars and everything because its you! Get photographer to edit if it will make you happy but dont do it because of what other people might think.

I'd go to a make-up counter in Boots/Debenhams and ask what the best cover-ups are. I'd definitely recommend Benifit - it's expensive but worth it! And seriously hun, the scar is part of you. I'm sure guests will be overwhelmed by your radiance and beauty on the big day and wont even notice it.
I had a friend who had a horrid, raised, red scar on her elbow (she broke her arm and the scar from the operation was terrible) she had it operated on again, purely for cosmetic reasons to tidy up the scar and its barely noticable now. I wouldn't suggest surgery though - it's a big step and lots of pain for 1 day which will be perfect anway :) xxx

There are definitely some good make ups that can reduce the colour for you but I'm pretty sure keloid scars are hard to flatten. I have one across my neck from a thyroid operation I had over 8 years ago.. people look at it as if it's still a fresh scar and tell me "don't worry, it'll fade"! .. If you can cover the colour with the good make ups then that will stop it showing from a distance regardless of the raised part of it so that may help your confidence a little, and then ask the photogaphers to a do a little airbrushing on the photos if necessary afterwards?

I've seen make up artists do amazing things with the light and shade of their brushes so it must be possible to make it almost disappear for your day.. I plan to do this on my day with my neck. I'm sure people wont be looking as much as u think though.

    xx
