we are probably getting our rings from argos but my engagment ring has a twist around the stone (pic on here) we both want just a simple band, do you think if i bought a slightly thicker one they or a jewellers could cut a bit out so it fits? don't think i can get away with it not being fitted, of course i will ask when we go, but have any of you had this done? we have seen some nice white gold ones for £30 each

are the white gold ones from argos?

the only thing is i think is that they hav to sit together perfect. my engagement ring turns around so that its not sat on the middle of my finger. my engagement ring is on a twist as well (pix on profile) and my wedding ring is a straight band and it looks ok. x

I think that if you really want a plain band, then it will fit on your finger, but it might not be comfortable. I'll post a link on your profile for a site where they come out to your house, and they custom make you a ring that you choose.. x

I have the same problem, my ring sort of juts out so I need to get a wedding band with a curve in it...I asked a jeweller a while back whether they could do that and they said it was definitely possible, so to come and speak to them. Not sure about cost though, but surely it can't be much more complex than resizing?
CommentAuthorMrs Alsbetty
that what i was thinking, there is a nice jewellers in my town who i have used a few times so i think i will call him and have a chat

i need a curve in my wedding band, my engagement ring is quite big and sits really high off my finger, i looked into getting one made but it was costing a fortune coz i want diamonds, but not little ones as the diamonds on my engagement ring would shadow over them i eventually found one that matches perfectly with a curve in it (pics on profile) have a look and ask in most jewellers, they will have some, you just have to look around. xx

yeah we have been but we are on a very small budget no more that £60 each the argos ones are nice and we want those, i don't see the point of spending huge amounts its the meaning of them that does

i agree with alsbetty it dsnt matter how much you spend its what they mean to you that counts.. :)

Alsbetty - my ring engagement ring is similar to yours and when we took it to be resized the jeweller said they could shape a ring to fit it no problem. Worth asking hun!
CommentAuthormrsquinn2b
My engagment ring is a cluster, so my wwedding band has to be shaped to fit in in. It looks stupid with a plan band and one of the rings i tried on you couldn't even see it, my engagment ring over shawdoed it. My H2B has told me i can have another engagment ring if i wanted to wear with my wedding band and put my current one on my right hand! xx

Alsbetty, I used to work in a jewellers so just wanted to say be careful with Argos rings. Lots of them are great (not sure which ones you were looking at) but if its 'rolled' gold it will have a hollow groove in the inside and will be really light and easy to damage. The D shape ones should be fine and last better as long as the edges are not too sharp. Make sure you try them on in the shop and check they have been finished properly xx
