Ok, we've been thinking about our first dance song for a while, and it's so hard as lots of great songs are about break ups or pain! However, I've been thinking about Can't Fight This Feeling Anymore and think the lyrics are really appropriate as he asked me out at uni 11 years ago but I said no, and wanted to be friends, then 8 years later he was still pursuing and I gave in! Is this song too cheesy though? I love cheesetastic songs anyway and will be wanting some 80's-90's music on the dancefloor, but am not sure if it will feel too dated? Or maybe I could get the band to play it instead of the recording? Arghh I don't know and also don't know if when I suggest to H2B when he gets home from work if he'll just laugh me out of the room...!

i love the 80's classics aswell! if ur h2b likes it then i dont c why not, if it means something then thats what its about really, not finding a song that sounds pleasant just to please others. i cant stand songs that r overplayed for first dances at weddings such as i will always love u and everything i do i do it 4 u, as nice as they r and the meanings r lovely, EVERYBODY has used them! its nice to have something a bit different. im still so stuck on mine and h2b isnt keen on any of my suggestions yet! lol

Oh, if you want cheese H2B wants Bryan Adams... hold on it gets worse...everything I do.
I told him it would be nice if our first dance song was a song I actually liked!!!
But, if we both liked the same cheese then, bring it on. It's what's special to you, ignore other peoples opinions.

Who cares what anyone else thinks. It is YOUR first dace, not the guests'. If the song means something to you and your h2b, that is all that matters. x

Don't worry what anyone else thinks. Its your wedding and your special day, if you and h2b both agree then forget the rest of them. Its meant to be a song that symbols something special to you not the guests.

No way! It's a fab song - I still want it, H2B hasn't said yes yet even though I've sent him the lyrics to review :-)

We were going to have Starship ''Nothing gonna stop us now''......ended up going for Adele instead. It's hard to beat an 80's power ballad tho'......go for it I say, if it's what you both want!! xx
