I want a plain wedding band as i am a nurse and cant wear dimonds for infection control reasons and i dont want to keep taking my band off as its something that should be worn 24/7, but my friends say that the dimonds look better and plain bands look cheap and nasty. wot is every1 else having?

Plain platinum for me. I don't think plain ones look cheap and nasty at all - it doesn't have to have bling all round to make it a nice ring!

I'm having diamonds and i work in a kitchen so will need to take it off... but keep it on me in a contact lens pot with washing up liquid in which is what i do with engagement ring... it is always lovely and clean and sparkle when i put it back on xx

i wanted matching rings and carl works in a pub where he often has to move and carry beer kegs, he actually bent his titanium engegement ring doin this. i like the diamond ones but wif his job i know he will lose the diamonds so we hav chosen plain white gold bands and they are not cheap and nasty looking. they frosted with a shiny edging. lovely xx

Mine has diamonds, but that was only a decision I made once I started looking. Was very much wanting a traditional band, but then fell in love with the one I'm having. Like it has been said, it's personal choice, and plain in no way looks cheap.

im having a diamond one but i like the plain bands too. im having mine shaped to fit my engagement ring and i personally think a plain one would look strange with a dip so i chose diamonds to make it different. its really up to you!!

Ive got 4 diamonds on mine :-) My friend is a nurse and she has diamonds in both of her rings which she has a special finger bag/plaster that she wears over them when at work. Ill find out what, where and how much they are if you want? Im going to see her on monday.

I'll be having a plain white gold band. My engagement ring is all sparkly so the wedding band doesn't need to be too flashy. Plus with my eczema I can't really wear a ring. I wore my engagement ring for about 2 hours about a month ago and I'm still trying to get my hand eczema back under control. H2B is having a plain silver band as he pulls apart vending machines and will probably ruin it within a week.xx

I got mine from turkey, was £500 for a full eternity ring with 1 carat of diamond and 18ct white gold and is stunning. Allcertificates with it and had it valued here and it was £3000, not bad me thinks xx

H2B is having a plain yellow gold ring (brushed effect) and I'm having a yellow gold patterned ring (no diamonds). The pics are on my profile. I think plain/patterned look like 'proper' wedding rings - especially if you have diamonds in your engagement ring, but it is down to personal choice. Don't listen to your friends - they've probably got different taste to you (and wouldn't life be boring if we all liked the same thing?? lol).
