so about 3mths ago on the bay of e, i found a business in ashford/surrey that cud do my sashes and covers for a gd price. I checked the date of my wedding was free, it was so i filled out a form and later ssent my deposit via bacs.
she was going to sent me ssamples in the post.she didnt

for a mth or so i forgot about it but then i emailed her to remember.
now 2mths after the deposit was paid, i get an email acknowledgin my deposit was received and that samples were on their way again.

now i get an email sayin shes had email probs and that the day is double booked so she cant do my wedding.
I a fuming and said so in the reply
surly she knew she was free when she took my deposit but why wait two months to tell me its booked up. i told her was she going to wait until she never showed at my wedding for me to chase.

now her advert on the bay of e, says shes now based in devon with cars for hire.

the mobile numbers not changed but im waiting on my deposit going bk in my account.

but the OH thinks theyre scammers... now im panicing
i've 3mths to find reasonably priced covers/sashes for my day and its sent me into panic mode.

i pray to god hes not right.... i've insurance, but does this thing get covered. i've all emails/messages ssaying the day was free/booking form received/samples sent/deposit receivedd etc

    no worried

Contact your bank, temping then you made this payment, but it was not fulfilled and your having trouble. And you want the money returned.

Let her know that if the deposit is not back in your account by a certain time then you will be contacting trading standards.

Report her to the Bay of E anyhow, because she's clearly scamming people and should be stopped from doing so.

It wouldn't hurt to open a case in any event, even though the transaction didn't go through them. See what they say.

And also like GF suggests, threaten trading standards if you don't get the money back in the next 14 days. x

Def agree with the other ladies about opening a case on the bay and contacting your bank. Perhaps also check the terms of your insurance.

In the meantime try finding your local wedding selling group on FB. They seem to be all over the country so you should be able to find a local supplier for the chair covers etc. If you post and explain what happened, I'm sure a lot of people will offer to help or you might find suppliers advertising their services. X

PLEASE PEOPLE DON'T PAY ANY DEPOSIT THROUGH BACS THIS IS LITERALLY SEEN AS YOU JUST TRANSFERRING MONEY TO THEIR ACCOUNTS .......... USE YOUR CREDIT CARD IF THE TOTAL IS OVER £100 ( YOU DON'T HAVE TO PUT ALL OF IT ON YOUR CARD ) OR PAYPAL.
