I love this idea... But oh dear my list keeps getting longer x
CommentAuthorOWB
Katy, this is an easy add on. I popped to boots in my lunch hour and bought the little travel sized things. It took around 15 minutes and cost about £15. Now, if only all wedding bits were that easy!! I've never seen this at another wedding, which is why I'm so excited about it at mine!
If only life could be one long tea break

i got 2 boxes with lids from the store of 21. they are cream with roses on and have filled them with:
sanitary products- really cute looking in a pink bag party feet sewing kit deodorant hairspray nailfile perfume hand sanitising gel hand cream blister plasters chewig gum anti shine make up sheets
decided against paracetamol or similar as i didnt want the blame for anyone taking too many !!
I have also got a card to put inside the lid saying : LADIES In case you have an emergency, I have put a few things in here which may come in handy.
Please feel free to use.

haha yes the condoms are a good idea really. All of these ideas sound great. Just another excuse for me to go shopping again i think x
CommentAuthorxbeckix88
Ive decided to do a box for both the ladies and mens loos now.
I had orginally bought a minature plastic bathtub to put all the bits in but going to get 2 x small plastic storage boxes then i can stick a message on the top. Im going to leave the paracetemol behind the bar too just incase of kids getting hold of them.
What has everyone else put in the mens box?
I saw above about condoms & i was thinking some body spray? mints? maybe some hair wax?

Mine has painkillers, mints, plasters, safety pins, tights (2 sizes, nude), deodorant, hand cream, nail file, hair bands and if I remember to put it in, lip balm.

hi ladies i made a sign for the ladies toiletries box but i dont know what to write on the mens any ideas?
CommentAuthorZoeC
This is a really good idea. I'm having a marquee so have to have portable toilets (not the blue ones like on building sites, these a bit fancier). I was planning on putting tissues, hand cream etc in them anyway but absolutely loving this idea :-)

CommentAuthorValentinaK
We're doing this... They do it at officers mess dos. Must haves are sanitary products, hairspray, deodorant and Bobby pins. But we're putting an abundance of wet wipe/face wipes in, gum, clear nail polish, hair comb, cotton wool/buds, Vaseline, safety pins, painkillers, plasters, hand moisturiser, nice liquid soap on the counters and fluffy hand towels as well as a bottle or two of perfume.
r the lads, soap, moisturiser, deodorant, wet wipes, hand towels and gum. They're grown up enough to sort out their own birth control!
And we lived happily ever after!

No, we wanted to steer clear of work in terms of venue! Ours is at a Masonic Lodge in West Yorkshire that we got for free due to my Uncle being a Mason at it... in addition we got masonic lodge members bar rates so its comparable to the bars on camp.
I was desperate to get married at home, and whereas all my civillian guests may have been wow-ed by the mess (we were thinking of College Hall Officers Mess at RAFC Cranwell) it would haven't been very special to H2B and me as Cranwell is where we went through basic training-He had a bit of a grim time whilst he was there after breaking his ankle in training. We met there but other than that, it holds no fond memories.
The other messes are getting run down, clinical and losing their atmosphere due to ISS and CRL. It's a shame. Everything is becoming generic and losing it's sparkle, character and charm. Plus it can be very expensive relatively speaking.
We are however, having a sword party/guard of honour (we insured the swords on the wedding insurance policy as was cheaper than doing so individually), cutting the cake with a sword and he is wearing his uniform... we also are naming our tables after old RAF Bomber/Maritime patrol aircraft...parly in honour of my Granddad who inspired me to join the RAF... and if I hadn't, maybe I'd never have met H2B, who was a Lancaster and Dakota Navigator Officer. But also to acknowledge both of our strong connections with large heavy aircraft such as bombers and maritime patrol. The base we both work at has a strong history of operating things like the Vulcan and Lancaster and Nimrod. H2B is an ex nimrod MR2 Pilot (now on a different fleet after they were scrapped) so we thought it'd be nice to recognise that somehow at the wedding. I was adamant about not numbering tables so as not to make anyone feel more or less important by a number.
Which base are you having your reception at LMC1302?
And we lived happily ever after!
CommentAuthoralmost a year wife!!
Sounds awesome!
We're having ours at HMS eaglet in Liverpool, it's a land base not a ship lol... My uncle works there... So yep cheap drinks lol! X.
