Helloooo ladies! Well I'm offically Mrs B! What an amazing and absolutely hlarious day! Maria dd my hair amazingly! never thought it could look like that! Daniela did my make up and was fantastic. I was worried it may not stay on as it was the hottest day so far at 29 degrees C but it did! Nicky was great and all our guests commented on how brilliant she was. Nicky and Daniela helped lace up my dress and put my jewellery on for me. The ride for me in the car and our guests on the wedding bus to the town hall was overwhelming! All the cars were honking their horns for us and Cypriots by the road and outside cafes were clapping and cheering us. At the Town Hall our music couldn't be played as there was a problem with their system, which wasn't the end of the world, so everyone clapped and cheered me in. Our little boy grabbed the rings off the cushion and threw them on the floor and our best man had to search around for them which was very funny. Steve got very emotional and had tears rolling down his face as I was saying my vows to him and Nicky gave him a tissue. Ceremony was over before I knew it but it would have been a bit longer had we had music. The town hall gave us our wedding certifcates and a beautiful present not sure I should say what it was as it may spoil the surprise for any other ladies getting married there. We then went on the wedding bus to the harbour via the town and there were more honking horns and cheering. I paid for a glass of champagne each on the bus but the bus owners were lovely and everyone had at least 3 glasses. Steve and I went to the mosaics for pictures with Nicky and then we joined everyone at the castle for more pics before boarding the Sea Star. The cruise was lovely with Nicky taking formal and informal pics while people were eating canapes, drinking and mingling. We then went on a traditional village bus up to the mountains for our evening reception. Our driver had everyone laughing by making the bus judder and jerk about. We sang "She'll be coming round the mountain" with some very different and funny made up lyrics. At the taverna the meze and wine was beautiful and Soula and George the owners spent so much time and effort making the taverna perfect and all in Ivory. We had fresh flowers and candles everywhere and Soula and printed out menu cards with organza ribbon. Meze, desserts and wine were delicous and everyone was very happy. We cut the cake and after feeding each other some I mushed then rest of the piece into Steve's face. We had our first dance and then everyone got up dancing and the time flew by. At the end of the night Soula gave us the flowers off the top table and the flowers and pearls off the wedding cake and all other little momentos like the beautiful tall glass, beaded candle holders from the cake table. Everyone said how fantastic the day had been and how it's one they will never forget. Sorry this is so long but for me it's only a brief descrption of the day as so much happened. In short though it was perfect! xxx

Hi ladies! Well my sunburn is now a suntan ....pity it wasn't a nice golden tan for the photo's! Love the photo's but some of the them have made me cringe due to my size but it's given me more incentive to lose weight when we get back. We have spent most of the day at the villa relaxing though we did get a bunch of flowers turn up this afternoon, with a an envelope attached. The envelope was addressed to "The happy couple, Mr and Mrs Barwick" in the envelope we have 4 tickets for an all inclusive day trip on board Wave Dancer yacht. Only thing is we don't know who they are off and no one is owning up to paying for them. Weve worked out someone has paid 178euros and we don't know who it is. My mum is taking our kids to the waterpark and kfc and then stopping with her at her villa tomorrow night, so Steve has planned a loooooong lie in, followed by lunch at the harbour, and then hiring a speed boat for the whole afternoon to find a peaceful cove to swim and relax together in. Sounds like heaven. Hope you are all well and enjoying your planning! xxxx

I've not been on for a while. I've been so busy with the kids and enjoying the sun!!
I've been stressing out how we are going I pay for it all, but I got a call from my aunt the other day. My sister recently inherited a lot of money and called my aunt for ideas for a wedding gift. I told her before we didn't want gifts and we're asking people for money as we have everything we need. My aunt told her not to get us a gift if we didn't need it and to give us money. Well, she's giving me a big cheque on my birthday, (in June) which will cover the meal, cake, hair, make up, photographer and ceremony!! Woohoo!! a huge, HUGE weight lifted off our shoulders

Hi all,
I really want to get married in Paphos, Cyprus but I don't know where to start to plan. Can anyone share their tips with me or know of anyone who can organise this or is it better to do it yourself? All help is greatly accepted. xo
CommentAuthorHa_x3
Hi Shelle, Unrestrict your profile & I will message you!
I went through a wedding planner that i found online, all she done was book my wedding for me & a photographer aswell as took me for our paperwork meeting at the town hall.. i didnt pay a penny for her time!!
I also reccomend booking the wedding seperatly than with a holiday as it works out much cheaper doing it alone.

Hi Shelle and welcome!
We can all help you every step of the way. Any questions just ask. Some ladies go for a full wedding package, some use wedding planners just for the paperwork and a few like me do it on their own. Doing it on your own is very straight forward so we found no need for a wedding planner but it all depends on how much you want to do yourself. We can recommend photographers, hair and beauty etc for you too as we have been there and found them to be great.
What are your ideas so far? Are you wanting a church/town hall/hotel or other location like the beach? Do you have family that will be traveling with you?
I agree with Heidi that booking holiday and wedding seperately do work out much more cost effective.
Can't wait to hear how your wedding plans come along. xx

Hey ladies,
Thanks soo much for getting back to me. I have now unrestricted my page so hopefully now you can post to it.
My plans are a chapel wedding (as i'm Catholic, I am unsure whether I can choose a different location). I want my & H2B's immediate family & a few close friends to travel over with us (this will be about 30 people). I have researched a few places but seem to have got no where.. Are the wedding planners UK based or based in Cyprus? I am worried about planning it myself & it all going wrong :(
Stevie if you could send me those ebrochures that would be a great help. xo

Hi Shelle For a catholic wedding you would still need to do the legal paperwork within the town hall of your choice and then you can go on to a Chapel or church. I believe the main Catholic venues are St Georges chapel and Agia Kyriaki Chrysopolitissa (The church by St. Paul's Pillar). Virgin Life Giving Source chapel at the Elysium Hotel and St. Savvas at Kefalos BeachTourist Village. These are very popular and very pretty. I will see if I can send you the ebrochures via private chat. xx

Copied and pasted for Shelle
The couple has an option of two types of ceremonies civil and church, or both. They are perfectly legal and recognized worldwide. The same paperwork is required for either ceremony venue. Procedure to be followed Book your wedding date via telephone, facsimile or email as early as you can. No physical presence is necessary at this point. Get together legal identification passports, birth certificates, decree absolute (if divorced) deed poll (if you or partner have ever changed their name), 2 affidavits stamped and signed by a solicitor. We can give you more info on how to do this. And you will need 2 witnesses passports. Your two witnesses do not need to go with you when you go to the town hall a few days before the wedding.
Failure to have the correct legal paperwork will result in nullification of wedding.
Present yourself at the Town Hall of the Municipality of Pafos at least one day (preferably 3 days before) prior to the wedding with all the required legal documents to fill in an application. Application hours are Monday to Friday 8.30 a.m. 10.30 a.m.(local time). No prior appointment is required for application. Fill in, sign and submit to the Marriage Officer a joint application called Notice of Marriage indicating your will to marry each other and containing your particulars on the basis of your passports. At the time of application each of the two parties must make a declaration on oath or affirmation that they know of no impediment or other lawful hindrance to their marriage and that any necessary consent required for the marriage has been obtained, or that no such consent is required. Presence of the couple is mandatory for the completion of the application procedure. Pay the fees of 282 euros in cash.
The wedding is celebrated on the booking date in the presence of two witnesses over 18 (passport numbers are required). Civil ceremonies at the Town Hall are held Monday to Friday from 9.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. Other types ceremonies are held Monday to Friday from 2.00 p.m. to 7.00 p.m working days. A Certificate of Marriage is provided immediately. One or more certified copies can be provided at the prescribed fees of 13,67 Euro. A certified copy of the Certificate of Marriage is forwarded to the Embassy or Consulate in Cyprus of the respected home country/ies of the couple. In case a couple wishes to celebrate a religious marriage instead of civil, the same procedure prior to the wedding should be followed at the Municipality. Once the paperwork is completed, the couple is immediately given a “Certificate of the notice and fixing date and place of the celebration of marriage” allowing to contract a religious ceremony at a church within the municipal boarders. It should be noted that the ministers of any religion or any other denomination must be registered/recorded in a special register kept by the Ministry of Interior. This information can by provided by the Municipality. The couple can choose where to have a religious ceremony, either at a charming hotel chapel or a church ceremony.
