I'm most definately not having the word 'obey'! I wouldn't be able to keep a straight face. I think ours is something like 'honour and keep' x

If my H2b insisted I had obey then I would make him say the same!!!!! Its only fair he Obeys you after all the women are the boss!!! I think we are having cherish which is the common alternative to obey. to be honest with you though most vicars now let you pick your style of vows. so if you want cherish, keep, adore, etc you probable can. x

This was the first thing I asked the registrar because I said i dont want to say that cos I wont obey anyone, she said its outdated and they dont include it anymore pheeeeeeeewwwww!!!!!!!!!!!

H2b Keeps telling me he wears the trousers but like you I let him think he's in charge but I know the truth he! he!, without me he would'nt even have any trousers. There'd still be in the washing basket!!!

Oh there's no question of who's the boss with us- he does nearly all the cooking and cleaning! But I'm very laid back so we don't really argue, I put my foot down in a very subtle and gentle way, but I'm still def the boss and he seems fine with that, lol!

Wow you've really got him trained, my h2b will do housework if I ask him and cooking but he does hand all his money over to me but I dont make him he just gives it to me cos he trusts me completely.
CommentAuthorhigginszajac
No in this house i cook and he washes up as for the rest his excuse is he hasnt been trained on how to use my washing machine or hoover so cant use them lol, all in all hes pretty well house trained xx

We forgot to talk to the vicar about the dreaded 'obey' and when he sent through the OOS last week it's in there! Problem is that I printed 55 off and have started making them up and just haven't got the time or energy to change it and reprint so it's staying!
I have told H2B that I'll slip in a quiet "not" before I say obey-ahahahaha! :0)
Can't wait to be married!

<Name>, I take you to be my wife/husband/partner, I promise to love you, honour and respect you. I will stand by you and be true to you always. I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and faithfulness and I ask you to wear it as a reminder of the vows we have spoken today. Whatever life may bring I will always love you.
This is what we are having xx

Just so you know, 'obey' doesn't just mean that you are to obey each other. It also means 'to listen'. This is why we're having it in our vows.
CommentAuthor~feebee~
No I'm not saying obey and I'm not saying lawful wedded husband either because I just KNOW I will say AWFUL wedded husband ha ha ha :/

Obey isnt really relevant now, different years ago when the man was in charge and your dad was actually giving you away to your new 'owner' lol we're not having obey, then I'd be destined to break my vows and I wouldnt want that! Feebee I know that h2b would say that deliberately, at which point I'd have to kneecap him for being a smart ar$e in front of all our friends and family... cant have that lol x
