Could not be more excited, it is now starting to seem real that we are going to be getting married now we have given notice today!
Had a little nightmare regarding birth certificates and not having H2bs full certificate and having to get Mil2b to get it, but all got sorted in the end!

Now very very very excited about sorting readings, music, witnesses, walking down the aisle etc. May 2013 will be here in no time :-)

it was fairly relaxed really, apart from a bit of panic from H2B about not having his full birth certificate, was pretty much just a chat.
As long as you have all of the evidence you may need:
document containing your address and full name (e.g. council tax bill/ bank statement)- for you and h2b
british passport- for each of you
or if no passport- full driving license and full birth certificate.
If born after 1983 and no passport- mothers full birth certificate
£70 in cash to pay to give notice.

the registrar was really lovely and spoke to us both seperately to complete information and get us to sign then spoke to us together to explain what would happen next.
Now just have to go back 6 weeks before to pay in full and hand in document containing info on readings, music, witnesses etc.

I am pretty organised; got venue booked and deposit paid, photographer booked, entertainment booked (2 hour solo accoustic guitarist- £150- bargain), Mum is going to make cakes (cupcakes and one large cake), i am doing favours (sweet buffet and making own favour bags for this), Me and my mum are making invitations, bridesmaids on standby to go shopping, two shops booked to try wedding dresses on, readings nearly decided on, music in process of being discussed. Table plans sorted then rejigged then sorted and rejigged yet again! Very very excited! :-)

Ooh, very exciting, we're doing ours on Thursday. You're lucky to do it on a Saturday, I had to take a day off work for it as our local office only do Monday to Friday.

Apparently they ask questions like whether you could be related. I mean, come on, lol, there is no way we can be, I have 100% pure Chinese blood in me and my parents came to the country in the 70's! H2B is a real mixture of western blood. My sister said when she and BIL did it they had to try to remain serious when they were asked the question (at separate times).

yeah they asked if we had ever been married before or if to our knowledge our partner had been married before and if we were to our knowledge related by blood or marriage (at seperate times).

Yeah I was pleased could go on a saturday as nearly impossible to get time off work on a weekday and work very long hours. :-) Already had to book week off work for honeymoon, had to book it before booked wedding so knew could have it off xx

Stacey just give your register a quick ring to double check and they will tell you exactly what you need thats what i did as i have no passport or driving licence and have lost my deed poll papers they were really nice and she double checked with he superintended and all i need is my full birth certificate, bank statement with address details, my first marriage certificate and husbands, death certificate as i showed my deed poll papers for my first wedding it shows the name change on the marriage licence so that fixed that x

yeah make sure it is his full birth certificate and his mums full birth certificate that contains where they were born or you may have issues. They seem a bit picky with documents! I know it is a joke how much it costs! It is £4 just for the wedding certificate on the day too, what a joke!! Yeah proof of address has to have your full name on. xx

yeah that's what our registrar said, usually best man sorts payment. Yeah h2b has to be there 30 mins before we got told to meet with registrar before ceremony to make sure nothing has changed and i have to meet with registrar 15 mins before. Dont know what the rules are for a church wedding. our venue is literally 5 mins drive from our house and h2b staying at his mums which is 2 mins walk away so no probs there and I am slightly OCD with being late for things so will be there really early anyway sure will have to wait around somewhere. lol xx

Yeah we got told full birth certificate would be needed that's why we had probs as h2b had only brought short one and had to get future mil to get his full one for us quickly or we would have had to book another app and go back xx
