sorry girls, this is probably a TMI post, but surely somebody else is worried about this!

When I get nervous my face sweats..... and the back of my neck! Not to the stage its pouring off me, but I definatley get a wet face and make-up has no chance!

As I'm getting married in summer (and possibly in a marquee too) I'm sure i am going to be hot anyway, and along with the nerves i am panicking that I am going to "glow" a bit too much?

anyone else suffer this, and have any tips on how to stop it apart from deep breathing and valium????

Yikes, could you not ask your doctor for advice? I know they have great stuff for sweating but not sure if you can put it on your face. Not much hep I know but your doc might be :o)

but my body is ok, I barely sweat at all usually! When I am nervous is mostly just my T-zone and nape of my neck. i wouldnt even say its very noticeable, it is up close but not from a few metres away. Am just worried about my make-up on the day!
have seen some things in chemist but they are all about blocking pores to stop sweat and aint no way am I putting that on my face!

i know botox helps, but thats also a bit extreme for just one day!!

I was going to suggest botox!! I cant say as i'd do it just for a wedding!! The best place to go then is to a good quality beauty salon. They should be able to show you products that will stay put but not block the pores. They might even give u a sample of too :o)

Hm, I'd say talk to your doctor. There are many crazy wonderdrugs out there, it's always worth asking, and they are less likely to give you something harmful than a beautician

If you can only notice close up then make sure your bridesmaid has some make up for touch ups in her bag, and also consider a fan for your face for the wedding breakfast?

I am also very worried about overheating!!

Have you heard of something called "Sweat Block"? Google it... Not sure it's recommended for use on the face, but it claims to stop sweating on the underarms for a few days...

I am a (face/head) sweater too when I am very nervous - so I am assuming that my wedding day will be 'up there' with my 'top most nervous times'.

I have already had a brief chat with my doc re nerves and he has agreed that IF I wanted nearer the time he would give me a low dose med to chilllllllllllllllllllll me out.

Also, I have also made a point to have a fan in places (on a moderate speed - fortunatly we have 2 almost silent fans!!!) in places I will be most stressed...so, in the room we get wed (pointed at me and the Porky Prince) ... when I am getting ready in my room..and *maybe* at the reception as I am making a speech...also, I am making a concious effort to NOT surround myself with too many faffing folk as that really gets my BP UP...so, as calm as possible..with a little Champers and a laugh or 2!

I get increasingly sweaty as I become more aware of the fact I am nervous and sweating!!!

My MOH is going to have access to make up..a small fan for faces...and some absorbant paper...I KNOW if I think the potential issues through I WILL be less stressed and less inclined to sweat...

    Hi,
My friend suffers with excess sweating and she went to the docs and he gave her medication to reduce the amount she sweats, after these she is much happier but now has to take them all time she wants to do anything special.

What about just having a tablet or two off the doctor on the day to calm you a little bit...

My mum needed that once for an event and the doctor prescribed 'Diazepam'

It really worked and calmed the nerves... doing that might calm the sweating :D xx

thanks for tips girls, I must be a right odd ball cause my underarms and body stay dry as a bone, its just my face!

think the fan idea will work, it will keep me cool when I'm standing in front of everyone, a tissue and face powder for before I turn around again! once the reception kicks in and I have had a few glasses of bubbly I will be fine.

i suffer badly from body sweating which i am worried about, i use bicard of soda dusted on the body and that neutralises the odour and also gives off a sweet smell! i dont know if it wud be good to put this on your face thou. wot about trying limetree tea or parsley tea they reckon if you drink enough of this the odour will smell sweet
