The organist will know Ave Maria blindfolded tbh as it's the one of the most common (but boring for organists!) pieces in the wedding repertoire for an organist so I wouldn't worry. They'll have done countless weddings before often with that piece so just let them know your music choices when you see the vicar and they'll be fine :) xx

Signing the register - Skyrim music
Walking out - This is a thing? I just thought it followed on from the registry signing music.
Father/Mother/other- daughter dance - Probably my Mom or Brother. Not thought about it. Probably a Queen song since memories of childhood are of Mom singing along to her Queen records doing house work
First dance - Little Wonders by Rob Thomas
During the meal - We have hired a famous Czech folk band for our music. They will play, but eat with us. During breaks I'll have a playlist set up. Classical for the day and heavier stuff at night.
During photos - They have music during photos? Never heard of that before/been to a wedding with that.

GF I think that's a great idea lol! Think we may have decided what to walk out to: Ain't that a kick in head by Dean Martin. Was going thru a list of popular songs to walk out to the other and this was on it and OH loved it lol xx
CommentAuthorMaxienF
Not sure of all of the songs yet so may come back and edit when we figure it out :)
1, Guest arrival at church - The Wedding Bride's Piano by Roy Todd (Its absolutely beautiful piano music, so romantic. Everyone wil be in the mood for love after listening to it) 2, Groom walking up the aisle to (if I can get him to lol) - Jagged Edge - Meet me at the alter 3, Walking up the aisle to - Leona Lewis - First Time Ever I Saw Your Face (IF the vicar will allow it otherwise I have no idea) 4, Signing the register - At Last by Etta James (We have been trying for 3 yrs to get married and had to cancel so we will be singing "AT LAST" once we have finally done it lol 5, walking out - No idea yet 6, farther/mother/other- daughter dance - Not sure yet as my dad died when I was a teen and not sure if I will have anybody to walk up the aisle to either, but I'm good with the idea of walking up alone :) 7, first dance - Damage by Ghetto Romance (his fave song) then Wifey by Next (Love the song and it fits with the beat of the first one) 8, during the meal - Not sure yet, whatever the DJ can supply us with lol 9, during photos - They will all mostly be outside so no music needed really

Still not happy with music I just don't know what to do I'm having how long will I love you to walk in to. We are then thinking of having all of me and an acoustic version of thinking out loud for signing the registrar. Walking out is the difficult one oh wants kodaline the one I want n sync this I promise you. I hate this part choosing the songs so much
CommentAuthorElizabethF49
We are really struggling now we cant decide on anything argh we need to let the registrar know this wednesday and im ready for thumping him over the head with a hard object knock some sense into him lol.
the problem is we are both passionate about music I love all sorts of genres he is stuck in Indie-rock mode and wont budge but doesnt want chasing cars as its used far too much at weddings now even though when we ask people what band reminds them of us its snow patrol.

Well whilst people are being seated and waiting for me at the registry office we hare having 'Concerning Hobbits' from the Lord of the Rings soundtrack. I'm hoping to have 'He's a Pirate' from Pirates of the Caribbean when walking out. Still not sure about anything else really but it looks like we may be having a very heavy metal song for our first dance lol it was the first song we ever danced to so it is fitting for us but will probably freak everybody out. So yeah... I'm all up for stuff different than the usual love songs lol x

So far for ideas we have:
Walking in: "A Thousand Years" piano and cello version by The Piano Guys Signing the register: "How Long Will I Love You?" - Ellie Goulding "Higher Love" - James Vincent McMorrow "Wings" (Acoustic) - Birdy Walking out: "Hey Ho" - Lumineers First dance: "Thinking Out Loud" - Ed Sheeran
Really love Thinking Out Loud but kind of unsure about it because it's so popular! xx

After chopping and changing a million times:
All string quartet: While guests arriving, coldplay, oasis, general classical stuff Walk in - Pachebel's canon Signing register - golden brown, all you need is love, then they added on Air on G as we needed more time ;) Walking out - I believe in a thing called love During meal - golden brown with vocal accompaniment, god only knows with vocal accompaniment, and a piece SIL had written just for us. This whole section was a surprise for us!
And I can now reveal we did a choreographed dance to "Crazy" by Gnarls Barkley which the band played for us!!

Not sure whether to go with something from the musicians we're hiring, or to use a couple of modern songs for our entrances and exit - J keeps switching between wanting an entrance of his own and not wanting one... ugh!
I know our first dance is going to be to the musicians - hopefully we'll learn the steps right! - and then we're having a group or ceilidh-style dance to get everyone on the floor, then handing over to a DJ (if I can find one who will let us have a "no-play" list and isn't already booked up!)

Haven't really thought much about the hymns and entrance/exit music, as we don't know yet whether we'll have the organist or not (would like to but it's a budget thing). We live in Elgar country so would love some of his music but it can be a bit crazy circus sounding! Have a feeling this is one of the things we won't be deciding on until much nearer the day.
I think we'll probably have Accidentally In Love by the Counting Crows for out first dance. OH is a massive CC fan, and it has been one of our songs right from the beginning, as it was what happened to us (knew each other about 10 years then - woops!). It's also a good song to do some fancy footwork to if things go as planned ;)

I love how many people are having music from films! We'll also have lots of music from our favourite films throughout the day and at the ceremony...
Are you having a different song for bridesmaids and a different one for you? I'd like that but I'm thinking that the isle in the church isn't very long so will it be awkward if one song suddenly stops and a new one starts?
CommentAuthorFlossie
We're having the 1 song for the bridesmaids and myself. Even 1 song is too long, let alone 2 xx

One song is more than fine for bridesmaids and then bride.
Personally having live music at our wedding made all the difference, I thought about getting my choir involved too but the logistics were getting a bit mad and I wanted them (and me!) to enjoy the day.

We decided last weekend that we would quite like to walk out after we are married to - Wannadies, you and me always
Nice and upbeat and relevant xx
I'm still undecided about what I want to walk in to.... It's either, canon in D or flightless bird piano version
Signing the register - happy tunes like, Jack Johnson better together, Michael Bublè, everything, Jason Miraz I'm yours
First dance is either gonna be, Lonestar Amazed, Kodaline The One or Patrick Swayze She's like the wind (that's our song)
It's so hard to be 100% sure you've made the right choice!

Hi ladies I've been really struggling with the song choices for our ceremony as we are getting married outside we've been told that need 3 songs for walking down isle as its a bit of a walk from the castle I know I want a thousand years by Christina Perri for the main walk down the isle and I also like Nathan Sykes over and over again but I really don't know what other songs would want for signing the register or walking I know religious songs are not allowed I'm really stuck! We haven't figured out all of our songs yet but, both of us loving metal, we have chosen the song for our first dance! :) It is "Sleeping Sun" by Nightwish. One lyric adore from that song is "I wish this nighttime would last for a lifetime.....".
