Has anyone else had or is having an M&S wedding cake? If so what are your opinions on them? We have just ordered the taster pack for their wedding cake which we pick up on thursday, but want to see if you think they are a good option and worth the saving in price?

I have heard good things but you have done the right thing to order a sample. Its good that its a blank canvas so you can design yourself. I also think they do some predeisgned ones but not sure.

We're getting one! Didn't realise you can get taster packs though. Might be worth doing. We're just going to get three tiers of plain sponge with white icing and decorate it with out own 'flowers' and ribbon.

Yeah we are looking at the 3 tiers pearl cake in ivory. I have already bought foam roses in ivory and purple to match my colour scheme which arrived today. If I change my mind on the cake I can always use them for something else in the wedding. The taster pack is only £6 so hopeully it will be worth it.

The Supermarket beginning with W does them too (samples as well) - mil got us a bundle at weekend x

just seen a gorg choc and orange ganache one on waitrose. I am so gutted it wont fit my theme as it sounds gorgeous and i really want to eat one. I dont think my cake maker does that flavour.

Mrs H2B yeah I ordered mine online and you can select the store and date you want to collect them. Thanksmunchkinpie I will have to look into that one. can you get them online as we dont have a store close by so would have to travel to pick up samples.

We had 1 tier fruit and 2 tiers sponge (and also a sponge Hello Kitty) all from M&S. They were delicious!

just picked up the sample pack and were gonna sit and enjoy them in a bit with a nice cuppa!!! they look yummy. you get 2 pieces of each cake fruit, madiera sponge and chocolate so no sqwabbles with the H2B!! :o)

just tried all the samples and all i can say is yum yum yum!!!!! :o) think we have decided just to go for the madiera cake as i really dislike fruit cake and that would be the biggest layer. I will be ordering this cake soon as it is worth every penny and such a huge saving!! enjoy your samples ladies well worth the £6!!! :o)

I made my own cupcake tower and had a small fruit M&S cake for the top, I decorated it myself, we also had a cake square that can be left undecorated and cut up in the back for extra pieces, this way you can order a small cake and still have enough to go round! All the cake was really moist, the service at M&S was brilliant too.

my brohter had thier basic ones and they wer really good. My MIL is going to make us one like the M&S one with the dots of icing on, with pink dots and pink butterlies

I just put a co-ordinating pink robbon around mine and the toppers as I didn't want anything too fussy, there are a little swirls of icing on the top already done. If I hadn't had cupcakes I'd have had just frsh flowers on top of each tier, that can look stunning and is mega easy to do yourself! ;)

you can order up to 3 months before as you select the exact date of delivery before you pay for your order. for a full wedding cake you have to order at least 3 weeks before you need it delivered. You can check for the exact detail of your store and cake choice without committing to payment by adding it to your basket and then proceeding to check out to the first 2 steps and then cancel it off. x
