I'm wondering whether to get the mum's and grandma's a corsage (not the wrist corsages, a lapel one!) or if I should just get a few extra buttonholes? I really want to get them something, just so they feel a little more included if anything else but not sure which one?! H2b has his mum and grandma and his mum has a wife but on my side it's just my mum! I'm not sure what to do about colours either, do I get them in the same colours as my bouquet and bridesmaids or just a plain colour so they don't have to make sure it matches there outfits? Grrrr

Are u doing button holes for everyone? Im going to get a corsage of some sort for my mum, mil2b and my nan. Then only people in the wedding party are having buttonholes. Im not paying out for everyone to have a flower to throw it away of sit there and pick at it. Ill put the money towards better things xx
Is now happily married to my gorgeous man

No, I'm not getting buttonholes for everyone, just the bridal party.. and then the mums and grandma but I'm not sure if they should have a buttonhole or corsage? My bridesmaid are having wrist corsages!

The ones im getting my flower lady is going to put like a safety pin type thing on the back of for me and ALL my flowers match so i my bouqet will be deep red roses, black beargrass and crystals and the bridesmaids will be the same but with white roses then the corsages and buttonholes will be a mixture of deep red and white roses with black beergrass and crystals :-)
In her email she said she will make the mums that little bit extra special to make them stand out that lil bit more heheehe

So it doesn't matter if the colours wont match there outfits?? My colours are midnight blue silver and white, the flowers will be midnight blue, a light blue, hot pink, silver, purple, white and I'm sure there's another colour just can't think lol!! So I suppose because there are lots of colours it should go?!?!

Exactly!! That's why I have a mish mash of every colour going.. I think the other colour might be orange lol I really can't remember! I just know it has LOTS of bright colours so I'm sure the mum's will find something to match. I think I will get corsages, then if they don't want to wear it on there lapel they can pin it to there hand bag or purse!

this is something I cant decide on!! who all should get them anyway???
groom, best man, dads, mums, page boy and is that it?? (we are not having ushers) or should senior Male family members get them too? And what is the difference between a corsage on the lapel and a corsage for the wrist??

I just dont like these things that sit on the Mums shoulder and trail down the front. Its looks like something has done a big sh1t down their top! when I search Mother of the bride corsage in Google images they are all wearing them on the shoulder???
have emailed my Mum to ask her what she wants, and will go with that. Just hope it aint one of those big long things!

I got MIL2B a beautiful delicate silk orchid corsage which I knew would match her outfit perfectly. I asked my mother if she would like me to get her a corsage and she said no, she wasnt wearing a flower as it would clash with her dress. Pointed out I could get ANY colour of her choosing. She still declined. Doesnt want one. Or a hat. So there is my lovely MIL2B with the full works, lovely new outfit, hat, corsage, new shoes, all matching and looking lovely, and my mother wearing a dress and no trimmings. A shame.

Maybe a double buttonhole (women wear these upside down), little more money than a single buttonhole but less than a corsage. and being slightly different makes it a bit more feminine i think.

My mum and MIL2B will be having buttonholes along with the bridal party (except BM's who are having posies). They are quite traditional so i think they will want them, as for everyone else they can get their own if they want them!
CommentAuthorbiochrissy
we're having button holes for bridal party, parents and grandparents. just a way for us to keep budget low as corsages cost a little more, and it's nice for the grandparents to feel a bit more involded xx
