Hi Ladies, So I ordered my engagement/wedding rings but the stones are moissanite and sapphire, and I will post pics soon once they arrive. If anyone has an engagement ring with stones other than diamonds please share pics and why you chose a stone other than diamond. Would be great to find some brides with moissanite rings and tell me what you think about it!
Thanks xxx

My sister has a beautiful ring. Her main stone is a Sapphire then she has small diamonds and smaller sapphires on the band, her wedding band is diamonds and sapphires. I think if had chosen my ring I would have gotten an engagement ring with sapphires, I do love mine and wouldn't change it now I have it.

Mine is Moissanite. I chose it and I love it!
I don't agree with diamonds (certificates are often forged etc), and high street quality diamonds are shocking in colour and clarity.
My moissanite has the best sparkle, it's always "smiling" at me. And they come with a lifetime guarantee. Best decision I made and I hot a much bigger stone for the money I paid x

My engagement ring has an emerald as the main stone and is surrounded by diamonds. I've always wanted an emerald, so all of those hints obviously worked ;)

'i don't agree with diamonds' what a strange thing to say...well i very much agree with the diamond thats in my ring but its the 2 beautiful sapphires that are on either side that make it so lovely...
i think its all about taste and personal preference and if you want a really big shiny rock then a diamond isn't always possible, some of the most beautiful engagement rings i have seen haven't been diamond its just what you like. :)

Not agreeing with diamonds isn't a strange thing to say when you know where they come from and how the majority are sourced. My dad has worked as security for some of the prolific diamond miners and it's not pretty. It's a hard cut business where people get killed. They are also well overpriced. X

You can buy ethical diamonds, thats what my fiance got for my ring...? plus you were discussing the quality and not the manner in which they arrived at the jewellers. i think you can go down that route with so many things, clothing, food, even holidays for example - I try to act as responsibly and ethically as I can. And as long as you do your research and make sure you aren't ripped off then they aren't overpriced as they will retain their value and increase in value as time goes on, this will mean that I have something valuable to pass down to my children etc. Like I said, its personal taste...

I think I might have seen moissanite once IRL, but I'm not sure (it was a customer at work). I know they're very popular in the States, but are almost unheard of over here; which is a shame because I'd really like to see one!
