Hi everyone, I have a bit of a conundrum - our venue price includes flowers including bouquet for MIL and MOB. My parents have very kindly offered to pay for the majority of our venue price so I felt bad because that sort of meant that my mum would be paying for her own flowers. I had the idea that I could arrange a bouquet to be delivered to them both on the monday after we've left for h/m (2 days after the wedding) with a note saying a big thank you to them both. My concerns are that they might feel a bit put out on the day if they don't receive anything. Do you think they would? It's my friends birthday the day we get married and we're arranging a bouquet for her that my h2b will present to her in his speech but I just wonder if my mil and my mum might bit a bit disappointed (albeit only until they receive their flowers on monday!!) What do you think? xx

Why don't youjust give you parents the balance excluding the flower cost and you pay that yourself so they still get them on the day?

I think they would, until the flowers arrived a few days later. aas theyre not paying all the venue price i dont see any harm in using the flowers supplied, and maybe after your honeymoon using the money you would have spent on something else, a nice brooch or bracelet, or peice of crystal, or a dinner out?

why don't you use the money to pay for your friends bouquet, and pay for the mums ones yourself? I imagine (if its anything like my venue) that they won't have provided as much in the budget as you would have wanted to pay anyway, look into that first, you may find that they only allow £10 each or something xxxx

That's a good point Sara. I guess I should check that first before I worry... I was thinking as well it would be one less thing to coordinate on the day as we aren't having any ushers or any BMs so it was one less thing for the Best Man to worry about. I think I'm just going to have a think about it. Or maybe even explain to the flower lady so she can sort something out for us on a separate bill. xx
I think they would be upset if they got nothing, then you gave flowers to your friend as part of the speech ;/ Why don't you get them a little gift for the wedding day with a note saying "more to come" then send the flowers like you had planned for the Monday as a nice suprise ;)
