Hi, Started looking at venues and got our first quote.
Half of our guests are coming from Ireland so there is obviously a risk that not all come, however the venue has said that once we book the venue it doesnt matter if numbers drop, the quote is deemed to be "minimum spend" and so locked at that amount.
My question is, is that common practice? At 130 guests its not exactly a small wedding, the package itself is for 60 ppl and then £X for extra guests, I would have thought i can confirm final numbers closer to the date and not lock myself into 130ppl from day one?

Have you asked how much it will be per person if you book for 60 but the increase the numbers ?
