Could anybody recommend anywhere in the shropshire area where we could have a marquee?i have tried most things and getting no-where!i would really like to find somewhere, either a field, gardens or historic grounds etc...
we had Buildwas Abbey booked in febuary and they told me last week that they have changed their minds, so no marquees there now.As you can imagine im very disappointed.
any help would be greatly appreciated.

I know someone who's having a marquee in the grounds of Shrewsbury School. She's a teacher there, but I don't see why they wouldn't let you even if you weren't an employee, if you asked.

With our wedding reception we too are having a marquee wedding and obviously having the room/ideal place to have it was our concern at first. We have seen people recently tidy up an allotment/waste ground close to their home and one other couple use a pub garden. Fortunately we have been given the use of my mums house and grounds but with it being 12 miles away we have the problem of getting the guests from the church to the wedding reception so intend to hire a double decker and are asking for a small donation from each guest to pay towards it. Maybe considering somewhere a small distance may offer a wider choice of options as it has for us. Either way asking local farmers that have grass land to use for hire could be one other option. Fingers crossed!
