I'm about to go and get my nieces dresses for our wedding, Hannah is 5 and Chloe is 14 months...should I get them the same dress or different ones?
I'm thinking different might be good, as Hannah is a "bridesmaid" and Chloe is a "flower girl"...think this might get around any jealousy Hannah might have? Chloe won't care lol

Helena we saw some beautiful cream one in TK Max which are perfect for the little ones as I am cheap and refuse to pay £60 for a childs dress. Monsoon have some lush ones too. We're not giving them flowers either as they will be ruined xxx

Oh, that sounds good Rae - I've been told we're off to Lakeside sometime this week so will keep an eye out.

We're doing a little posy for Hannah, and a bear for Chloe

I need to speak to SIL to find out what sort of thing Chloe will hang on to.
What do you reckon, same dress or different?

My eldest was bridesmaid with being 7 years old and my youngest was flower girl as she was only 3 years old. They had different dresses as to make the bridesmaid look like a bridesmaid. my youngest held a little wand with a flower on top (surprising at how they will keep hold of them as they look so cute) any my eldest had a little posy. I think that if one is a bridesmaid and the other is flower girl, they should have slightly different dresses at least just so the older one feels and looks like a bridesmaid. Good luck and happy hunting xx

Thanks Wren, that's the way I'm leaning too :) Chloe really won't care what she's wearing, but Hannah might get a bit miffed if they're too much the same :)

I think as long as they tie in together different ones are fine - they're are some great sales out and about atm; I've just brought my flower girl dress 1/2 price (it's diff to other bridesmaids) x

Cheers Minnie - I'm being taken out shopping tomorrow with the littlies :)

CommentAuthorMaggielou

CommentAuthorsouthern
We didn't go for the petal in the end...apparently it wasn't foofy enough for my little diva, I mean niece :)

we're gonna put our girls all in the same dress if possible...but thats cos they're our daughters, however our eldest will be nearly 6 by the time we get married,so depends if we can get one to fit her, otherwise it will be one that is different but still ties in with the younger too.... then obviously the older bridesmaids will be different to the younger

My older niece (5) was thrilled because she looks like a fairy princess lol :) They're more expensive than I really wanted, but they were both so happy in them I couldn't say no!
