Hello, welcome, and congratulations! I'm in Scotland so no help for London tips but all the girls here are lovely and I'm sure someone from London will be along soon :) . No, not too early to start planning lol. I started at 20 mths, planned like mad for a few weeks, bought the date forward 6 months, panicked, then stopped doing wedding planning for a few months. Now with 9 months to go I'm straight back into it and nervously exited lol

Budget is the best place to start and for that you probably need to have an idea of the number of guests you'd like to have. Which part of London are you in? I'm in SW, so can probably help you out with some venue suggestions in this area. i'll also bump a thread about where to start etc. Hx

Do you know whether you would like a religious service or civil ceremony? x

Congrats on your engagement and welcome to UKbride :-)
I'm a fellow London bride, from SE. And trust me, never too early to start planning! I'm getting married next year too, but I got engaged in Dec 2010 and started planning straight away! Which was probably wise as it took us 9 months to find a venue...! Can totally sympathise that it would be easier to get married out of London - definitely cheaper! However, we found that there are loads of venues and other suppliers who don't charge crazy prices just because it's London!
I definitely found the search function on here useful for finding potential venues - that and a lot of googling!
Good luck with your planning :-)

I'm not far either - just the other side of Brockwell Park - officially Clapham Park, but basically Brixton. We had our reception in Herne Hill!

Cafe Provencial, just after the railway bridge on Half Moon Lane. They were awesome there. Adam, the owner, was amazing. The food is out of this world, which is why we chose it LOL!

iluvcakes - I've just posted the list of the ones we viewed on your wall :-) I've also got a list of the others that we contacted but didn't end up viewing. Let me know if you want that one too!
MrsN - I didn't realise you were that close to me either! Brockwell Park is only a bus ride away from me lol.

Indeed it is, in fact even better than that is the 417 from CP to Clapham Common. It goes up Kings Avenue and that's just at the end of my road!
