Don't worry, it's not about a cancellation!!

As some of you know (those who have me on fb) I had emailed our venue about hiring out their cottages for our wedding night, for us & for some of our guests, they emailed back today saying they were very sorry but the cottages were fully booked for the weekend of our wedding, as our venue holds Polo matches & practices etc & the Norfolk Polo Festival is the same weekend as our wedding. The lady also said that the village would have lots of traffic on our wedding day, due to the Festival, so that's something to consider telling our guests, although the Festival won't affect our big day really as it will just be us using the venue.

She apologised again & said the Polo club had originally booked the Festival for a different weekend but they've only just decided to change it! AND that we had the possibility of changing our date, she said she understands the date we've chosen may be special to us & to say sorry (again) they will give us the Honeymoon Cottage for free & also £500 off our total venue hire, if we wish to change the date.

I was a bit gutted as our date is 6th July, which is our anniversary, but then I thought, well whatever date we choose, will be special after we're married anyway, so it's not really that important.

H2B & I have had a chat about it & have decided to change the date & save ourselves some money! Our original date fell on a Sunday, which also worked out well for us as to hire the venue on a Sunday is £4,000 whereas a Friday or Saturday is £4,500. So then we couldn't decide whether to go with a Saturday this time & our total price would stay the same, as we'd get the £500 off, plus the cottage for free, so we're still saving .. OR, stick with a Sunday & also get £500 off our total price.

We've decided to go with a Sunday, & I've checked with our cake lady, photographer (& the venue!) & all are free on the new date we've chosen .. I went to phone to change the date with our registrar, but they closed at 4.30pm & I phoned at 4.35! Typical. But once I've phoned them tomorrow, first thing, I can confirm with everyone else that we've booked! So fingers crossed, that as from tomorrow, our new date will be Sunday 8th June 2014 .. That also means less days to wait, wahoo !! So it's all worked out quite well really xx

Thanks ladies! Sorry, was out all day yesterday so didn't have a chance to come on.

But anyways, I phoned them this morning & the date is officially changed !!
It cost £20 to change with the registrar, but it's a small price to pay! & I've changed the date with the venue, cake lady & photographer too. We haven't bothered with the DJ yet as we think we're going to use somebody else. I think that's everyone we needed to let know?? xx

Thanks ladies, I'm so chuffed! I wouldn't of even bothered changing the date, I would of just found somewhere else for us to stay afterwards, but when I saw the words 'discount' & 'complimentary' .. I couldn't refuse haha xx
