My 13 year old son is giving me away i wondered if everyone else was having there dad or someone else giving them away!

im having my step dad who has been there for me from the age of 7 and i dont really have anything to do with my real dad x

my brother is giving me away..i don't speak to my dad, my stepdad died 9 years ago..so it was my brother or my mum, and i thought it would be nice for my brother to have a role in the weding.

I'm having my dad. I was a real daddys girl growing up- helping in the garden, and hes the one who took me to all my sport practices and competitions. It wouldn't feel right with any one else and I know I'm so lucky to have him.

My mum is!!! Complicated family set up...but I feel priveleged to have someone who I love as much as I do my mum walk me down the aisle x

my dad is giving me away. i can't imagine anyone doing that really. but my dad being my dad will keep me nice and calm all the way to the venue. i can't wait! he prob wont cry either but i'll cry enough for both of us so it's ok!!! lol x

im having my dad if he will anyway hes always been the one i look upto and keeps me calm and everything have always been a daddys girl but then again so has my gramps i spose i could have them both if i wanted but he has my nan to look after so maybe not hmmmm am looking forward to it tho i think my dad will say when we get there that theres no giving me back now lol

my mum is giving me away my dad has never been there 4 me really even when we all lived 2gether but my mums done everythin 4 me so i asked her she said no at first as my dad was annoyed at it but ive told her tough shes doin it n if my dad doesnt like it he doesnt have 2 come (they have been separated about 8 years now and he blamed me 4 the first 3 years because i moved with my mum) shes abit nervous but im sure she will be fine on the day

My dad is walking me down the aisle but my wee worry is that we both wont fit down the aisle lol as it isnt very wide in the church and with me being a bigger woman I may have to walk a wee bit in front of my dad! x

This is something I'm struggling with, I would have asked my little brother to give me away, he passed away last year and I'm not close with my dad, so I was thinking of walking down the isle on my own. My mum doesn't think that is a good idea. Now I'm really not sure, every time I think about it just end up thinking of my brother and getting sad. If I was to have anyone it would be my mum.

i am getting my grandad to walk my down the aisle as i dont c my real dad, and my grandad has always been there for me so it only seemed right that i ask him - he got rather emotional when i asked him :D

My uncle give me the way at the civil ceremony, he has always been there for me. And my dad will give me the way at the church.

My mum and dad split up when i was about 11 and my mum has brought me up even before they split up my dad worked off shore so he was never around so when i got engaged i said to my h2b that i wanted my mum to give me away and he was happy with that. My dad now lives in newcastle while i live in aberdeen and my h2b has never met him. So when i told my mum that we were getting married i asked her if she would give me away. It was really sweet the way she reacted cos she cried and thats not like my mum. The hardest part was telling my dad that i wanted my mum to give me away. I ended up giving him a letter and he replied to me with a letter in my birthday card and he was really ok with it well so he says and he said that my mum was an amazing woman which she is. When my dad left she had to look after 5 girls by herself (me being the baby of the family) so i feel she deserves to give me away. I cant wait and wouldnt have it any other way. I know its not traditional but its my day and thats what i want.

My mum is giving me away as my dad passed away a few years back!!!!

My Dad is giving me away - & will probably start his speech with "I'm not allowed to say 2 down 1 to go but what the hell...." this will of course be said while my mother is glaring at him..... :-)

My daddy will definately me giving me away. He gets no choice in the matter. Hehe!

My dad's giving me away. We've had our differences over the years - especially in recent years where we've been through some major arguments, and he's on occassion been diffcult, but at the end of the day he's still my dad and I love him - and I knew it would mean a lot to him to walk me down the aisle. I wouldn't feel right with anyone else doing it x
