    Hi girls,

I would love to have 2 bridesmaids and 1 maid of honor but I dont know who to ask... is it so wrong to have no bridesmaids at all or only the maid of honor? Also havent got any little girls in my family who could be a flowergirl would love to have two but what can I do? Its it ok to have flower boys instead??? What would you girls do?

you can have whatever you want. However, I think you need at least 1 adult bridesmaid/made of honour, just to make things easier for you on the day, like hold your flowers, handbag, make sure your dress and veil are sitting right at all times etc etc.

but it really is up to you hun. Have any of your friends got little girls that would love to play princess for the day?

You can have as many or as few as you want. There is no right or wrong way. I wouldn't have flower boys though but keep them as page boys. They will look just as cute.

I'm not having any attendants as it's only a small wedding. I do have my 17 year old son though. Not only is he giving me away but he will be my general assistant for the day too, doing all the things that bridesmaids / moh would do. From other threads (and other weddings I've assisted with), female attendants do appear to be more trouble than they are worth, but that is just my opinion.

I'm only having my son and daughter flower girl and pageboy, can t think of anything worse than having a bridesmaid or maid of honour more trouble then they're worth, and having listen to someone else moaning about the dress there in staying well clear from all that hassle.
Have what you want and just ignore everyone else, if i could get away with it id ditch the best man too lol

lol madison :D well if i'd get rid of best man h2b wouldnt be very pleased as they have been friends for so long...
I think u do helped me lots already I think i'm only going to ask one of my ex work maids to be my maid of honor and no other ppl. as she is at the moment planning her own wedding too we are in so much contact about everything...she was the one who went for the first time with me to try a dress :D and she said she loves the dress on me which i really love... so i think yeah no bridesmaids as i wouldnt know who to ask dont want anyone to miss out or being jealous so i rather have none... I think my dear friend though deserves to be moh as she has been helping me trough lots already... still need to find a flowergirl though...:) otherwise the 1and half year old nephew of h2b&me is going to be a flowerboy instead will look just as cute i reckon :))

I think you can do what you like. I started with 3 bridesmaids and 2 flowergirls but it's now 5 bridesmaids and 2 flowergirls! Lol. Still they're all buying their own dresses (can't wait for that shopping trip *rolls eyes*) and h2b sister buying the flower girl dresses as they are her daughters so i'm happy. The more the merrier! :0)

The gift buying for them is getting more and more expensive though!xx

    Can't wait to be married!

Its completely up to you!! I was going to just have my MOH and DS as ring bearer but was made to feel guilty by various family members so now have two bridesmaids, which I really didnt want! Do whatever you want, not what you think you should have to! I really wish I stood up to everyone and said no!

When we got engaged I didnt rush to ask friends to be bm etc and I am so pleased I didnt now! My 'logical' chioce is quite disinterested and other friends have been much more supportive. You have plenty of time to decide and see who wants to be involved etc so there is no rush. Would your h2b like you to have his sister as bm? Do you get on with her?
TBH you really dont 'need' anyone as I am sure a good friend would support you on the day etc. If I ask one friend to be moh she will spend the day running round after her kids, my potential pb and fg as they are a little ahem boisterous so will be no support to me at all! ha ha

To be honest, if my brother was getting married and I got on well with his w2b and she did not ask me to be bm I would be really upset! Just because I would want a proper sil relationship with her. However if we were not close I would not expect it.
I have been very upset as my brother and his gf of 9 years split up just after we got engaged and I miss her terribly and would have loved her to be bm, such a shame!
I think it would look really cute to have the 2 boys dressed the same even if the youngest could not walk down the aisle and at least as bm their mum could walk down the aisle with the 5 year old pb?

You can have/not have whoever you want hun - I'm not having bridesmaids. Our daughter is being flowergirl, and I asked my sister to be MOH just for officiality, but she's not got any jobs to do and I'm not buying her a dress or anything (she's choosing to buy a dress to match our colourscheme though). I don't have any close female friends and if I did, we can't afford to kit them out anyway. Pluss it's a small venue and I think a load of bridesmaids would be overkill x

You can have whatever you like! I mentioned to my friend at the weekend that I'm not having anyone walk me down the Aisle. She seemed a little shocked until I reminded her that it should be my Dad but of course he can't do it. No one can take his place. My friend did only half jokingly suggest her Mum (!) but my mind has been made.

Remember it's your day, your way :) x

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)
