hi everyone, i'm new on here and just looking for some advice. me and my H2B are only looking at getting married in 2014 because we need to save up for it as we are paying ourselves, however we have money already for a deposit on the venue that we both really like. is it too early to book it now if the venue allows it to be booked so far in advance? oh forgot to mention we are looking at an august wedding as i work in a school so this is the best time for us.

Well when I booked my venue in 2009 a lot of them did have the 2012 book open and had taken bookings, but I'd say you have plenty time so take your time and look at as many as you can, I think it's one of the most important things so I wouldn't rush it x

Best thing to do is phone up and ask the venue, some will only allow bookings a year in advance, some are booked up completely four years in advance! Depends on the type of venue eg size and popularity. But phoning them is the only way to know for sure!

It's the tail end of wedding season and a lot of places get booked up really quickly and years in advance. I'd go have a look around at some different places and see what's on offer for what price.
I've got just over 9 months to go and I STILL don't have a set venue hehehe

    It's right what they say
"The course of true love never runs smoothly"
But if it had been easy then we wouldn't love each other as
much as we do right now - 1 week to go :D

Look around as you can book soon, but make sure you are 100000000000% happy with your choice. If your deposit is 'small' it's not too bad, but like Maria, we are getting married in April 2012 and our non-refundable deposit was £2000. Luckily I LOVE my venue, so visit places, think carefully but go for it if it feels right :o)

You have time to look around and check which venue you really really do want, but when you're sure you should book as soon as possible.

I was surprised that the venue we wanted (and several others we looked at) were already completely booked up for 2011 (saturdays anyway) and half booked up for 2012!

good luck in finding your dream venue.

we are looking for our venue at the moment for 2013 - we have found that the venues vary loads in terms of booking procedures....some don't take bookings that far in advance, some do and keep their prices, some do and increase their prices by 5%.

worth looking round loads of venues and go from there! x
