hey so iv bought my wedding shoes (I'm in love by the way) they are at my mums atm and i need to walk around the house in them and wear them in and I'm rarely at my mums because of the 35min drive to get there also i need to check how talk i am when wearing them as they are pretty high and i don't want to be level with my fiancé in the wedding pics so need to see if they are too tall which would mean me having to put them on and stand in front of him etc so if i bring them back to my house and if my OH sees them is this bad luck??? or does that just apply to the dress??? opinions please!! :-) xx

I think that it just applies to the dress, because it is most likely your dress will cover your shoes anyway, unless of course you have a shorter dress.
You could probably pass it off as a general purchase, you know men... there none the wiser.. he'll probably think oh dear, another pair of shoes.
But for tradition/superstition purposes i do not believe that him seeing the shoes will be a problem.

I wasn't sure about this either.. I am waiting for my shoes to be delivered and OH asked me to show him a picture of them when I first placed the order. I said no as thought 'omg no he can't see them!!!' haha, but I think when they come I might actually show him :) x

I'm planning on decorating my shoes so he will see mine. I thought this initially but I think it is more the dress than anything else x

Shoes are fine. You need to wear them in anywayso hell see them regardless.
Me and my OH are the same size and I was worried about them being too big and towering him and I needed him to be honest but even though ill be taller he said he doesn't mind which made me very happy :)

I think shoes are fine. Looks like my OH has been having a good search for me I noticed when I signed into ebay this morning. He is very, very good at shopping. I have struggled mot showing him dresses, because I really value his opinion!

I'm not at all superstitious; I described my dress to him before buying it (and would have been fine with him seeing it), and he saw all my shoes, jewellery etc. Also went out for dinner with him after my hair and make up trial lol

It's not that I'm superstitious.. I just want my OH to be so surprised (hopefully in a good way) on the day! My shoes are currently with my next door neighbour so I will be seeing them this evening.. If I love them I'm not sure I will be able to stop myself showing them to OH lol xx

I love my shoes. I don't think it's bad luck to show them to h2b although I've kept mine in the box in my wardrobe. My friend wore her shoes around the house with mens socks pulled over them to keep them clean and hidden while she broke them in!

I think its only dress, not shoes. Wouldn't be fussed if my fiancee would see my shoes, would be devastated if it was dress though ;)

I think it's hard to keep the shoes hidden too, especially if you're going to wear them in prior x

There's only the superstition of never leaving them on tables if you were going to go down that route. But seeing them is fine. :)

I don't think it's bad luck for OH to see anything. It's just nice to keep things a surprise for when he sees you walking down the isle. Some people show their OH everything. My OH has seen my headpiece, shoes and garter but nothing else of my outfit. The dress is the most important thing to keep secret as I think it's nice for him to see it for the first time when you walk down the isle. When my brother got married the first time they did everything by the book with not seeing this and that as it's "bad luck" but 12 years later they got divorced. He's married again now and he saw my sil's dress before the wedding as they now don't believe in the bad luck thing. It's down to personal preference.
