Hi everyone and thanks in advance. Me and my h2b were originally planning a wedding abroad on a budget. Now were having an UK wedding for 138 people! We are trying to cut costs where ever possible but not sure if tea and coffee is one of those things everyone looks forward to and expects??? It will only cost extra 175 or so .

Hi Leah
I think if you are trying to stick to a budget, no one will mind not having tea or coffee (considering how much you will be spending on them through the day, anyway!) x
CommentAuthorCatrinaP
im only haven 30 for the meal and were having tea/coffee only because I will be dying for a cup by then and we have a few old aunts n uncles and my dad who would all love a cuppa so maybe just ask the older ones if they would like one think most ppl would be having a drink x
CommentAuthorMrsH-2B
We're only having it because its in with our package.. Wouldn't be if it wasn't, if they really want one then they can order it from the bar xxx

if you're on a budget than i don't think it's a problem cutting back on tea/coffee but i'd make sure the bar at your venue has the facilities to make a tea/coffee for anyone who wants to buy one! xx
Really good question. We are all such tea pots I think we really need tea/coffee after meal and had assumed this would be in the package price - later realised it's £2.95 per person to add a cup of tea !!!! I think that's such a rip off and for 50 people is nearly £150 for a cup of tea each so I'm not adding it. I don't mind paying for things if I feel we get value for money and it's reasonable. Having the bar open is a great idea - think we'll do that

I'd only have it if it's part of the package. If you're cutting costs I'd say ax it.
CommentAuthorJennyHeather
I need to check our package to see if we get it I'm not too fussed though if we don't.
CommentAuthorGlitterfairy
We had tea and coffee after our reception whilst they were getting the room sorted out for the disco by taking away some of the tables etc. I honestly don't think everyone took up on it so it was a huge waste of money.

We're having tea and coffee because its part of our package. I think it's a nice extra but if you're on a tight budget I don't think it's necessary.

I work in the catering industry and have worked at several Weddings and can honestly say I think it's a waste of money. The amount of cups that we'd clear that were still full or only had a few sips taken out of it was silly. I won't be serving tea or coffee to everyone but know they'll be a few that want a cuppa?? :-)
CommentAuthorOWB
We're having afternoon tea, so it would be a bit weird without the tea! At a normal wedding though, I've not always had a cuppa afterwards.
If only life could be one long tea break

We didnt have tea/coffee after the meal - we were providing fizzy and wine for the guests so they could get their own tea/coffee if they wanted it.
I really did marry my Mr Wright and we had a nice day for a

Its one of those things that isnt really EXPECTED as it were, especially if you are on a budget, but like many of the other brides on here, we are, but thats because it's included in the meal with the package we are going for!

I'm a officially a tea pig as the h2b calls me I love my cups of tea! I wouldn’t expect tea after a meal but I’m always happy camper once I know I can get my tea fix from the hotel bar!! I don't think its any different to thinking what if people don't like the wine with the meal they will soon nip to the bar and get whatever their tipple of choice is!! fear not Leah i think its deffo a safe choice to cut out =0)
CommentAuthorKellyB81
We didn't have it or welcome drinks as they weren't included in the package - Instead we put money behind the bar so people could get what they wanted which seemed to go down better for us
