It's classed as religious hun, you are only allowed to have it at a civil ceremony if it is instrumental xx

Are you talking about the Beyonce version? Other versions yes definitely classed as religious but if it's the beyonce version that's a tricky one. The lyrics do imply a religious tone and it has an alternative version of the original hymns music in the background. Speak to your celebrant and see what s/he says

no was looking at a purely instramental version, possibly on the electric guitar for walking down the aisle. h2b loves that song and on electric guitar makes it sound a bit more - you know, us!

Oh without the words I can't see if being a problem hun - thats what makes it religious, so your should be ok but i'd just check with your celebrant x

Best thing is to ask the registrar as it is down to them but I can't see an instrumental being a problem. I'm having it for my blessing with Amazing grace as well.

Yeah the registrar will keep you right, it was them who told us that it couldn't be played at a civil ceremony UNLESS it was instrumental, also no music with any religious words such as Lord or God

I have spoken to h2b and the other song I liked is also one he likes so we'll go for that I think. I'll put a youtube link on my wall if people are interested! Thinking of going for this one as it's a little shorter than the original one we liked which is over 5 mintues
