I've just thought about wedding umbrellas, and do you really need them? Getting married in April so the weathers going to be abit hit and miss! Is anyone else having umbrellas and are you hiring or buying them?

I think it might be one of those things that if you take them you won't need them and vice versa.Have you got a hire car? If so i am certain that that is the kind of thing they would have in the boot just in case.xxx

I want some more for decoration - i think the pagoda ones are really pretty and look good in photos They can be useful for hiding from the sun as well as the rain

even In Aug we are worried about the weather so we are considering getting one for me. The superstition is that if I just buy one, that it wont rain so I am going to give in and cave haha! Just in case.

Yep I am in case it rains/snows as we get wed in november, if nothing else they will make fantastic pictures. I have 3 white ones for the bridesmaids and a red one for me and the other half.
I also have a black lace parasol for me and the other half and two red one's for the bridesmaids IF we are lucky enough to get some sun

I want a parasol for the pictures. Also I'v seen this site that shows you how to make a lace hand fan for your wedding so I thought I might have a go at doing that too for the picture's. I love hand fan's and collect them, so it would be a very nice and special one to add to my collection :)

I think they are a great idea! I got 2 ( for shade) for my wedding last July, but don't do what I did and FORGET to use them and leave them in the lobby :/ DOH! lol

I've bought a pink lace effect one for myself, and two white ones for the bridesmaids. They were on sale so I couldn't resist. Hopefully we won't need them, but you never know. I'm going to buy myself a lace parasol too.

We bought two to take with us to Gretna, even though we got married in August. We got all the way there and realised we'd forgot them lol. Unfortunately it did rain on the day - but a guy at the venue (staff member who went around with the photographer) actually had umbrellas ready. I think they were used to the weather and came prepared even in August lol.

I've seen some black and white polka dots ones, in a shop near me, and i'm thinking of getting some of them to have on standby, with it being the end of september.

a bit random but I was recently thinking about this and we got given a wedding umbrella that got passed down through 5 couples and kept the rain away for all of them! if it doesn't rain on your wedding day maybe you should pass the good luck on too lol xx

I've done it! I've just ordered myself 2 aqua blue umbrellas with fuschia pompoms :o) they're so cute, and only £9.99 each on confetti at the moment.

I think mine will be put on ebay - along with all the other wedding things as we won't get to use them now (they're ivory so definitely weddingy). It's a shame we forgot them as they're still unused and in their original packaging. Wedding season is around again so I'm sure they'll sell lol.

Saw some in deichmann the other day - just like OWB's - and they had a blue one which matches our theme and white - think I might go back and get some for me and bridesmaids they were only £3.99 each.
Saw some a while ago tho that were white with a frill round the edge in a different colour - going to have a google hunt now and see if I can find them to compare before I buy.
Love the heart shaped one too!

I do have 4 white umbrellas, i am a wedding photographer so i always have them in the boot of my car. I hadnt thought about the possibility of rain in August.....but in good ole' blighty we never know what the weather's going to do so i will have them to hand.
