After we get married h2b has said he wants to get my name tattooed on his ring finger as he doesn't like wearing rings and asked if I was planning on getting his. I like the idea of it having his name on me but I feel like people would be very judgmental of it and I wouldn't want it somewhere others could see. I was thinking maybe the bottom of my tummy just below the top of my pants so even in a bikini it would be our little secret but I just aren't sure. Is anyone else thinking about getting their H2b's name?

I personally don't like tattoos full-stop, and I particularly dislike name tattoos; but, each to their own.

I wont be having one but H2B is thinking of having our wedding date inked on his ring finger as its too dangerous for him to wear a ring at work.
One of my friends has a very pretty tattoo done with their names and date, she has it on her side so you only see it if she shows you.

I have tattoos as does h2b (he has a full back piece, plus numerous others) but when it comes to having names I couldn't do it myself as have seen too many people do this and then regret it later tbh. I think the only time it can work (and this is solely my opinion), is if it is the name of a child or loved one that has passed on and it is in remembrance.

However if it is something that you and h2b wants to do then go for it after all it is your body and it isn't for anyone else to judge :o).

I think it's personal preference, I personally wouldn't get my h2b name as its with u for ever and if u break up u have to have their name on u forever and I know a few people who had a partner name tattooed and then split. My h2b has his name tattooed on her and she lies to people about it as its in Chinese. If u n h2b want to get tattoes and you've both thought about it and its something u 100% want them go for it :) don't think about anyone else opinion it's ur body do what u want not what u think others will want :) I can't wait to get my LG name tattooed on my foot. I just haven't found the right tattoo yet x

I don't think I'll get his name (mainly cause it's the same of my dads name and I aren't his biggest fan) I might get 'Mrs Myles 28.03.2014' or something like that maybe. x

Dan and I both have tattoos. I would only ever have my child's name tattooed on myself (if I were to have a name but I'm not a great fan of names as tattoos). As much as Dan and I love each other and plan to be together forever you just don't know what will happen in the future. I would consider having a symbol tattooed on my ring finger as I wear rings anyway and it would usually be hidden underneath it.

I agree with Mrs Brammer to be, I wouldn't mind something that was between us, to commemorate our marriage and love and whatever but not names.
For me it doesn't stop at H2B name though, I wouldn't get any name on me living or not. I feel the body is a canvas for art, not a note pad for words. But that's just my take on it.

In regards to partners names, I think it could be regrettable as there's every possibility in 20 years you grow apart and end up with a mutual separation and move on with new people. I've dated people in the past that had ex's names tattooed on them and it's so cringe worthy.

I wouldn't get a name but maybe something that reminds you of him instead?
My ex got my name on his wrist and 2 months later I found out he was having an affair!
I love knowing the fact that my name is there forever to tease his misses, even if he has covered it up now lol
He cheated before me, he cheated on me and I'm a million % sure he will cheat again its just who he is

So no I wouldn't get a name unless it was my kids as you never know what will happen in the future!!

I have a back piece and incorporated in that is my daughters name (in chineese). I wouldn't have my oh's name on me although he is talking about getting a dragonfly on him somewhere (a big step for someone without any). That is a symbol that means something to the pair of us. Personally I don't think he should get a tattoo at all, and I'm not advocating him getting it. But it is up to him.

My dad has tattoos with his ex wife's name on which my mum has had to learn to live with. This is why I personally would not get a name tattoo.

On the other hand it is not my body and not my choice. If you want a name, do it. I'm sure you will come up with the right choice.

It's really personal choice but I would not ever get a tattoo as its something that you have for life, especially a name as although I love h2b. Nobody knows what the future holds and if you do split up there's a permanent reminder of it. Also I nurse old people and tattoos don't look so good when your skin goes really wrinkly and I've also nursed people who have been pregnant, lost weight or put on a lot of weight and their tattoos can stretch depending where they are. But if its what you want go for it x x

I have 6 tattoos. One is a treble clef on my left shoulder. This was my first one. I had it because no matter how I was feeling or what was happening in my life music always helped. Number 2 was a guys name in chinese which I had years ago before the chinese ones were popular. I was young and felt a passion for this guy but it was not returned. In time I decided to have it covered which was easy and now have a rose in it's place. Number 3 I had one on my foot. This was agian before everyone was going out having them there. I had it as I loved camping in Glastonbury and for me it stands for the hippy in me and the freeness I felt. Number four base of spine for the same reason as number one. They were both by a tattoo artist in Glastonbury.
Number 5 is quite large and is a design I came up with along with a tattooist. Down one thigh. It has three tiger lillies in it each one for each of my children with their names on. Number 6 I have a little butterfly with small swirls and my H2B name on my wrist. It has been tattooed in such a way that should we part ways it can be made into something else without being noticable.
My tattoos only are on show if I choose then to be.
I think everyone to their own opinion but those who have them should also not be slated. After all we all chose our own hair styles and hair colours, clothes etc, when you think about it, it's all decoration eh?
Go for what you want and don't worry about anyone else.

I would maybe get a symbol rather than a name...I just think they don't look very good, personally. But as has been said, it's your body, do what you want with it!

They are forever though..... A bloke who drinks in our local got a tattoo of Gary glitter when he was popular....and really regrets it now, for obvious reasons.

Also, a Liverpool fan got 'owen is king' tattood on his buttocks....weeks before Owen moved to Newcastle...

    Oh well.

    Xx

I wouldn't have a partner's name tattooed on me (just my opinion though).. My OH's ex wife has a heart tattooed on her boob with Gaz on it... bit of a bummer as she's now with a bloke called Steve!!!.

My daughter had her ex-boyfriend's name on her wrist (don't ever get me started on that piece of cack!!!).. she had a cover up done at the beginning of the year - Roses entwined with Ivy which looks very good so I guess I am biased.

But everyone is entitled to do what they want and I'm not against tattoos at all - I have one.. :)

I had H2B initial tattooed on my engagement finger before we got engaged we were talking about getting married anyway. A couple of people were a bit funny what if you break up and all that but my obvious answer was i wouldn't have it done if i thought we weren't going to last! Going to have Mrs McNeill tattooed on me after the wedding with our wedding date x

No one knows what will happen in the future and if something was to go wrong (i'm sure t won't though) then you would be left with his name on you permenantly!! Its not a good idea. X
