Hi ladies, I was just wondering if anyone was looking to decorate their tables for the evening reception and have chair covers and sashes, if so what are you doing ?

I will be doing all this in the day but not sure what to do at night xx

I'm tempted to take my centrepieces off and put them on the buffet table (as they are thin vases) but not sure yet! Need to discuss with mother :)

Is your ceremony/reception in the same place/different room? If so ask your coordinators to move things over, that's what I'm doing.

If not then it depends on your evening doo really. What is the decor like that's already there? If the chairs are dingy etc get bm/bm's etc to help transport the table decs so you have them at the evening venue & maybe order extra if you're having extra tables xx

For our evening reception the venue takes away some tables and chairs to make room for the extra guests, so I will have less in the evening than in the day, so no need for extra decoration or covers. I thought that most wedding venues also do this? I have never heard of tables and chairs being added for the evening xxx

We've got two separate rooms so not sure about chairs, but the table centrepieces from the 5 tables in the wedding breakfast will be taken down to the evening reception room, and they inc mirror plates, so 5 of evening tables will have the flower decs and mirror plates / candles, and then the remaining 3 or 4 will just have mirror plates and candles to match. obviously will alternate the tables so flowers are dotted around! and then all tables will have those gem decoration things in our colour scheme!
Flowers from top table will probably go across back of buffet and then the BM's bouquets will go somewhere along with my bouquet on the cake table! Which won't be seen until the evening xx

i know I'm odd lol but I'm actually have chair covers ans sashes for the evening and just sashes for the day the reason being that my venue as some really lovely gold chairs that fit in lovely with my wedding colours burgundy and ivory with a hint of gold. we are using those chairs for the ceremony and reception and they have some black and white chairs to pop in the marque for the evening. we wasn't going to bother covering them at first but the more i thought about it the more i wanted them plus one of the company's near me was doing a special offer if you booked over 50 chair covers you got other bits half price. so i have picked a ivory and gold metal post box top table and cake swags and a pretty arch. Ive also bought a led blossom tree to put int he room and the venue are transferring my table centres from the wedding breakfast over to put on the tables to x

Our evening reception is in a different room so the staff are moving the centrepieces into the other room and then we're having a couple of bunches of balloons to go on the extra tables :-) x

I'm having the same dilemma! I have six tables in the day with centrepieces, chair covers etc but we're then moving to a much larger room for the evening where we'll have 8/9 larger tables. I presume they'll be chair covers in the bigger room but Im not sure. I'm not sure the hotel will have enough chair covers to dress the evening room whilst we're still in the day room? I thought balloons for the evening tables maybe. x

were getting married abroad and then having an evening reception when we get back. I have been thinking about the decoration for a while and decided to decorate the evening reception, and going as extravagant as my imagination allows me to lol. We went to a wedding last year and it just didn't feel like a wedding at all, there was a just married banner on the wall and a small glass water center piece on each table, about half dozen balloons and that was literally it. I know it is about the people who are there, but i also think it needs to feel like a wedding celebration and you can get loads of decorations really cheap.
    xx

I've two ballrooms that are joined by a doorway, both rooms are long and narrow and when I see pictures of them both fully decorated with chair covers etc I can't help but think it makes them look overcrowded compared to having very little decoration. So I'm thinking of just using table cloths and centrepieces and leaving the chairs bare. There's pictures in my albums if anyone wants to take a look.
I think the amount of decoration depends upon the venue and how big or small your space is also it helps to get pictures of previous wedding layouts to let you see what you think is too much or two little or whatever so OP I suggest you look at what way others have decorated your venue in the past and see what works and what doesn't.

By the way I must add I'm only having an evening reception as I am getting married in England but having the party in Ireland. Oh and I would not plan on changing things too much between dinner and evening because all of that takes up time and there's enough waiting around at weddings sometimes. I'd be afraid of guests getting bored but that's just me probably.

We are getting married having the wedding breakfast and the evening reception in the same place - but there will be more tables etc added for the night as there is about 90 more guests, we are having candelabras in the day with tea lights and petals I don't really want to hire more candelabras so might just have tea lights and petals at night. I think I need to look at the venues chairs as to cover 90 more will be far to expensive but think it will look odd some covered some not xx

What are the chairs like without covers? You might not need to cover any of them. Could you put up a picture of your venues chairs?
Another option is to cover your chairs as planned for the dinner and to take the covers off when the other chairs and tables are added. Again this depends on what the chairs are like.

Check out Chair Cover Factory on FB. I have never ordered from them so I'm not sure of the quality myself but they've got loads of likers and really good reviews and their covers are really cheap. I think they are an American firm but they say they will ship to anywhere.
Yes deffo get pics of their chairs, is there no pics of them on their website?

we just left our centrepieces where they were and gave the venue some extra scatter crystals so when all the plate and things were moved they were able to just throw them over to give it some sparkle
