My daughter made mine, we got most things from hobbycraft. They have the cards already cut in packets and they have plenty of trimmings for you to choose from. And we got some things from ebay like the inserts, I was unsure about doing these myself so I ordered some from ebay. They were only a couple of quid I'll see if I can find the link and I'll put it on your wall. My theme is butterflies and I got some lovely ones from ebay, there's a picture in my photos if you want to have a look.

CommentAuthorBrideInTraining
xbox widow they are fab love the butterflies on them! x
Thankyou, the card already had the square cut out and I'll look up the name on the shop on ebay now for the butterflies, they do them in most colours and sizes.

sometimes making your own can be very expensive too (trust me we know) so it depends on the type of materials you choose more than anything. Any design can be done no matter the budget, if you go for the cheaper options. Hobbycraft can be expensive but mayvbe you could source materials from bay of e and other places like wilkinsons and then just get the finishing touches from the likes of hobbycraft. The place where we sourced a lot of our stuff foes pockeyfolds for abour £1 (or it may have been 80p) for the pocketfold style and then you just decorate it yourself. Will give you the link if you like.

I am making my own with my mum and sister.. so far we have done all the save the dates which to be fair didn't take too long as we just made different designs for each one but all within the same theme. So far, it's cost over £100 easily, but then we weren't exactly watching what we lobbed in the basket lol. Money aside, I prefer handmade ones, especially by the bride herself, I think its a nice touch :) But if its time you're worried about then buying ready made are far quicker obviously :) xx
CommentAuthorsuzky123
there was another site we used even more but cant remember it as I sent the info to mil2b as she was in charge of invites. Will have a good think x It might have been confetti something or other I really dont know

Ive made all my own stationary (pics in my albums) i got a pack of plain ivory cards and envelopes from my local craft store they were 50 cards for £6 a lovely heavy embossed card too, then i bought 10 sheets of sage card with a pattern on it from my local garden centre (they have a craft section) for not much money, then the diamonte ribbon sliders and ribbon were from the bay of e and the little doves again from any craft shop as are a well known brand. I bought som epearlised paper from the bay and used my own printer to make the inserts and stuck them in using double sided.

I made my own with 10 cards for £1 from a discount book shop crafting and toy shop. I was given artwork by an artist friend that I scanned into my pc, rearranged and added wording and then printed. I have used the art work for my favors, for my place settings, which double as a fan, name cards in children's crayons, table plan, signature sheet....I think my whole stationary costing has come to less than £ 30, and that's for 100 invites
Remember less can be more, and keep it simple. My table plan and signature sheet are being printed on a2 for £7.50, I can't wait for them to arrive.

wow your all a talented bunch haha x
CommentAuthorsuzky123
you can send a cheaper version to the evening guests e.g. a normal envelope. We decided to keep everything the same for day and evening except the box.... we gave the evening guests a cheaper quality box but without looking at the better box side by side, they wont know the difference x

im going to put all of our websites on my wall later, depending on what you choose, they can either be really cheap or as expensive as you want. Theres one site thar if you just want plain card so it for very low prices. Just waiting on mil2b to ring me back x Id try and steer clear from hobbycraft etc as they can be pricy if you arent careful. x

CommentAuthorsuzky123
I know one of the websites did pocketfolds for 80p each I think. You can get some stuff from B n M and from home bargains Im sure. Id defo keep an eye on ebay and just buy loads of things you like, and when they come in, have a good play around with the items. Thats all we did, got loads of stuff in and had a good play.... wine ontop may not be a good idea tho haha!

What if you did something similar to mine then but use a pink ribbon and sparkly diamante (unless you want the pearl), you could have an ivory card backed onto a pink card (or vice versa). Just dont make the mistake we did of getting the card too think as we couldnt print on the thing.... had to get a printer in the end.

I had a look at lots of websites to see what style of invites I liked the look of and ordered the things I needed of the bay and bought some things from hobbycraft & the range. For the day invites I have made pocketfolds and the evening are same design but on a card instead. Def buy a good craft knife and metal ruler ( wilko's do a craft set with knife, ruler & guiders for about £6) but I had already purchased mine! Glue dots are also fab to use!! Think all together I have spent quite a bit more than expected but I have lots of crafty items left over to make order of service, menu's etc!
CommentAuthorBrideInTraining
thanks :) ive never heard of the range ill google it now and have a look :) xx
CommentAuthorsuzky123
mil2b said stay away from spray glue, it can be seen under the card. She used a proper glue gun and glue dots too!

also when you play with things and try to put them together to come up with a design, she said to use double sided cellotape so you can move things and swap and change as we ended up moving all sorts about (sorry but she said to pass all this on as shes really enjoyed herself)

i was going to mention vistaprint, we're using thier large personal postcards. one set printed front and back. The back (which will be OUR front as it has more space for wording) Will be for daytime invitations, the rear will say and youre invited to the evening. the next lot will be one sided for thos invited just to the evening. 80 o each plus plain white envalopes, well uncer £30
Remember : To the world you may be just one person,
BUT to one person you may just be THE WORLD x x x
