I have a very stressful invitation etiquette question! We are getting our stuff together to write our invitations out today and my mum has made a big fuss that we haven't had "reception to follow" printed on our all day invites....I'm literally in tears because of how much she said this will confuse and offend everyone! Our ceremony it slightly later than usual and our reception is in the same place (we have the whole hotel exclusively) so we didn't think we had to. We just wrote "....invite you to our wedding" meaning all of it and now I'm beyond worried! Will it be ok?!

Yes you will be fine, have you got a photo you can upload?
I know guests shouldn't expect things, but really who doesn't have a reception?
Not sure why anyone would be offended?

If you really want to add it on you could print something to add in giving some more details as well maybe such as info in food and when dancing will start from?

They will be fine, we didn't put that on ours either as we had everything in the same place too so didn't see the need. Like Steph has suggested, if you want maybe you could add an insert with the rough timings of the day? Xx

I wouldn't think it was an issue, especially as you are only having one venue - I always thought reception to follow was only need when it was at a separate location.

We're not having a "reception" as such on the day of the wedding so have only put when the ceremony starts. We're including a menu choice sheet in the invite so people should realise there is a sit down meal.

    Definitely don't get upset x

I think it will be fine. Are you asking for special dietary requirements? If so it'll be obvious you're definitely having a reception and they're invited.

We had reception details but only because we had a church wedding so guests needed to know where the reception would be.

Yes we put a wee extra card asking about dietary requirements and about booking rooms if they want one so hoping it's fairly obvious! Sending them today/tomorrow and I'm buzzing now! Thanks ladies x

They will be fine if you've put those extra bits in. Glad you are happier about them now x

It'll be fine if it's all in the same place, guests at the ceremony will be able to see everyone going to where you're having your wedding breakfast :P

It's only really necessary when they're in different locations :)

    Don't stress it's ok xoxo
