    Hi All,

Today I have just checked our Wedding savings account ...........and in 6 months we have saved £4500!!! We have also paid for our Wedding rings (£800) in Full!!! So really that's £5300!!!

I am just so amazed that when you really put your mind to something it really pays off. We have cut back on everything, got better deals on our utility bills, I now do my food shopping on-line to avoid temptations.....lol. We don't even have a credit card any more. At this rate by the time we get married in May 2013 we would have paid for the wedding & honeymoon to Florida ( with kids) in full WHOOP WHOOP

God Willing we can continue to save a this great rate

    A x

antonia, are you doing classes on how to save mega bucks in a short period!!
Terri I agree with u we don't have the spare cash to put away, we have both got fairly well paid jobs but we don't have the disposable cash :( think in the new yr we're gonna have to sit down proper and budget and at least make an effort!!!!!!!!

    Thats great news
I might have to go and look at how much we have - its true with deposits here and there you forget how much you have put towards it!

Yeah we just kept paying venue off bit by bit and the venue is nearly paid

    Cars paid ;)

    Photo booth - nearly paid

Flowers paid etc it's crazy you just don't see how quickly it gets paid if you pay little and often! And whatever's left at end of month goes on to wedding fund haaha! ;) x

that's fantastic! Go you! We're spacing all of our expenses out, so only paying deposits just now and then will try and scatter the final payments so we maybe only have one or two a month in the run up to the big day. Plus pulling in wee favours can never hurt! xx

if you put your mind to it, you can do it! in a year we have managed to save £11k. i totally didnt think we would save anywhere near that, but we put money into the savings account at the start of each month, then just made do with what was left.

use Quidco to buy your mobile phones, switch you electricity bills, home insurance etc etc. You can earn £150 per transaction if you do it right.

switch credit card debt to a 0% card will also save you interest every month.

and just be brutal with your savings account. Get it into your head that once its in there, it DOESNT come back out unless its paying for something wedding related.

its hard, we stopped our meals out and cut right back on our nights out and takeaways. But its worth it in the end.
