The lady I won the Tiara from sent me this to help me choose, which I thought was useful and it was a free guide so I thought she wouldn't mind if I shared it with you all :-) so here you go!

Welcome to your 5 step guide in choosing your Tiara

These are 5 main pointers to be able to help you and make things a little easier or you. There are a number of things that you should take into account to ensure that you're not disappointed with your choice.

    Theme
    Face Shape
    Hair style
    Materials
    Handmade or Ready made

    Theme
Traditional tiaras are created from diamante stones with a rigid design, some brides see these as traditional tiaras
Vintage Tiaras are created from pearls, crystal and diamontes set in antique bronze there are more modern styles with the Vintage twist
Modern Tiaras are more structured less blingy but still has an impact and the Pagent Crowns if you like more bling
Quirky Tiaras that have themes like ununformed shapes styles inc butterflys, coils twist, dragonflies ect

    Face Shape
A oval face shape is just as it sounds, oval. If you have a oval face shape you can wear any size of tiara you wish, let your personal preference by your guide.
A long face shape is much longer than it is width and again the aim is to balance up the face, for this reason I would strongly suggest the you stick with short to medium tiaras, so tiaras up to 5cm tall would be perfect for this face shape.
A round face is almost the same width as it is long and the aim is to balance up the face by adding height with either the hair style or a tall tiara. So those with round face shapes can easily carry off a tiara which is 5cm (2 inches) tall or higher

    Hair Styles
Up do's id suggest a tiara comb, a large hair combs also look great and not forgetting the normal sitting higher tiaras work well if you want alot of height ...not great for long shape face
hair down and more natural id suggest a alice band or a normal sitting tiara but not to high or a large hair comb or large barrette clip to pin up a little hair with accenting swirly pins or flowers placed around your hair.in the curls if your having your hair curled....not ideal for round face shapes unless you wear a high tiara
Buns and loose buns ..go well with hair vines or hair pins place around the bottom of the bun hides al the hair clips and also wrap around bun tiaras...

    Materials
Rhinestone, Diamonte are normally in clear gems set in silver n gold this will go well if you like a lot of bling and accenting jewellery
Pearls and Crystals these can come in many colours now days great if you want to use different colour for your bridemaids. if you're wearing your grandmothers pearls then you should choose a pearl tiara to help tie the old and new together
Genuine gemstone you have the choice of array of colours a bit more bold and daring but also can be softer colour faceted gemstones give a great sparkle

Your wedding dress may also be decorated with pearls, crystals or diamantes, again it would be wise to choose a tiara design that matches the detail on your wedding dress as it will help create a sense of fluidity throughout your bridal outfit.

    Handmade or Ready made
There are a number of things you should be aware of being buying a tiara handmade. Firstly if your tiara is handmade you may not be entitled to a return a tiara if you don't like it, legally if an item is personalised or custom made to your requirements the seller doesn't have to accept a return due to the distance selling regulations so thoroughly check whether returns are allowed and if it's not clear contact the seller and keep that email response as proof if you decide to buy. Some companies allow returns on customised goods even if they are legally bound to do so such as Tiara's N Teir's offer a 30 day money back on all Tiaras and Wedding Items

That's a really handy guide. I ended up replacing my tiara as the shape didn't look right and I've now gone for a bigger one. And I have a round face lol ;)
