hey guys, im just about to book my florist and ive said to her that our wedding is black and dark red themed (apart from my dress which is diamond white) and shes come out with some great ideas with flowers and feathers which seem to suit us great. shes quoted me £55 for my flowers, £30 per bridesmaid, £4 a buttonhole and £50 per podium for church flowers, the types of flowers shes thinking to tie in with the black and red theme are calla lilly, rose, anthurium, dahlia and cosmos etc with some thistles coz thats what my partners wanting. SOOOOOO the question is are those prices about average for what im getting?? and is everyone elses coming to about that? xxx

hi, i keep comming on and helping... thinks i should get a job!! what you have been quoted is very reasonable. i presume your getting married about june-julysih - so its a steal. its a little more than we would charge (but we are quiet cheap for our fresh flowers) others in our area are more expensive! but areas do vary from place to place!!! so long as your happy she is good, or if you have seen her work/ been reffered there by a friend/ or use her for other flowers regulalry (these ways are always best to find someone to make your flowers) calla lilles can cost an arm and a leg in summer months, so really to include callas for the price is super duper!! wishing you all the best!! mrs b's xxx

I've just paid £21 for 3 bouquets 1 large and 2 smaller for my bridesmaid and flowergirls and £7 for 5 buttonholes and still undecided but if I go for the one on my profile thats £41 mine are silk aswell x
see thats really good prices, but does it cost more for real ones??? and with our reception the hotel are paying for all the flowers and centerpieces on all the tables so well just get them to match, so i think in total itll be 55 for me 90 for bridesmaids 40 for buttonholes so its only going to be £185, £225 if i get flowers for the church. im a flower virgin lol so ive no idea if thats good? x
CommentAuthorJay

The lady that does the flowers in the church we are getting married in said if we tell her the colour she will try and do that in the weekly display I didnt want to pay as we will only be in there about 20 mins and eyes should be on ME not the flowers lol x
CommentAuthorJay
thats a really good idea about getting one to toss!!! i never even thought of that! tiggs ur a genius lol! for the flowergirl ( my little princess) should i get her flowers or should i just buy some fake rose petals from ebay and get her to throw them along the aisle?x
CommentAuthorJay
i agree JLO im still undecided on the church, im wanting to put white chair covers over the chairs at the front but theres another 3 floors of pews so i dont know how much of a difference having flowers there will make, because the church is really big and has alot of detail in the wood work and the ceiling so might not bother with them x
CommentAuthorjojomc5
sounds a good price to me for real.ive made 8 bridesmaids an 10 button holes all for £100.but bought mine off ebay for £30.all matches and are foam roses and other bits x
CommentAuthoryvonne
that doesn't sound too bad, mine is coming to £276, and thats for..1 bridal bouquet, 5 bridesmaids bouquets a flowergirl wand, and 8 buttonholes. xx
CommentAuthorJay
are you having fresh flowers? i like the sound of a flowergirl wand, is that just a wand with flowers around it?( stupid question now ive wrote it lol) x
CommentAuthoryvonne
yeah i'm having fresh flowers..the wand is like a wire wand and there will be a rose on the star bit at the end..hold on..here's a link to something like it...scrolldown to the bottom.
lol thats a cracking big link! really good idea though coz my daughters only 3, 4 by the wedding and thinks shes a princess and its her day so i think thatd make her day x
CommentAuthoryvonne
aahh that sounds lovely..wee darling. ask your florist about options for the flowergirl..they may have similar things, it wasn't expensive either..£10 xx
CommentAuthorJay
ill need to see what she does as shes freelance so isnt connected to a shop, although im sure she could manage something, cant really be that hard can it? hows your planning going then? you seem to have things sorted im starting to lag behind lol x
CommentAuthorMelly
I'd probably have lavender wands for a flowergirl. (if i have one, just got to find a little girl). xx
you can have one of mine lol ive got my daughter at 3, my little sister at 1, my niece at 8, 4 cousins under 4 so ive had to limit it to just my son and daughter as a part of the ceremony or itd be like a trip to a soft play area!ill try and get it tied into my flowers x

CommentAuthorJay
see i only have a 2 bedroom house with not much storage so i dont really want to keep them after, my cat or the kids would just end up eating them! Kaya, i was the same! when you look at wedding mags and theyre like oooooh we paid 700 for flowers or budget 600 for flowers it made me shudder! so im glad to see everyones about the same price xx

HI JAY I love your theme, my girls are ava aged 2 at wedding in sept and alisha aged 6, just do what feels right by you, i have had loads of family problems, jelousy and have stopped telling people what i am doing, i wanted wands for my girls but they were toy fighting with them, that doesnt look good at a weding so i opted for baskets because the baby loves handbags and i knew she would carry a basket. my only nievce emily is bridesmaid and i got her a posy for £20 all flowers are to match my vintage theme, dusky rose, ivory and pale green which my mother hates but its my wedding, all silk flowers are from decaflora, enjoy your day babe, i will despite the family rows cos its my wedding! xx amanda
CommentAuthorMrs fairytale
lara if the church does the flowers they have to stay but we are having an out side florist do ours xx
cant wait to renew my vows, love my hubby sssssooooo much xx

Bumping this ... how much is everyone paying? I've been quoted about £755 for: -top table - £30 -11 tables - £30 each -bridal -£50 -3 bridesmaids - £25 each -10 pew ends - £8 each -5 button holes -£2.60 each -4 corsages- £8.50 each -2 standing ped-stools £50 each -wedding candle £25 Some roses but mostly gerbera and other white flowers with Ivy Is this too expensive or sounds about right? (I was expecting more roses for this price) We said we wanted the flowers to really stand out so the displays are going to be quite big. Look forward to your comments, Olehx
