hey guys, im just about to book my florist and ive said to her that our wedding is black and dark red themed (apart from my dress which is diamond white) and shes come out with some great ideas with flowers and feathers which seem to suit us great. shes quoted me £55 for my flowers, £30 per bridesmaid, £4 a buttonhole and £50 per podium for church flowers, the types of flowers shes thinking to tie in with the black and red theme are calla lilly, rose, anthurium, dahlia and cosmos etc with some thistles coz thats what my partners wanting. SOOOOOO the question is are those prices about average for what im getting?? and is everyone elses coming to about that? xxx

hi, i keep comming on and helping... thinks i should get a job!! what you have been quoted is very reasonable. i presume your getting married about june-julysih - so its a steal. its a little more than we would charge (but we are quiet cheap for our fresh flowers) others in our area are more expensive! but areas do vary from place to place!!! so long as your happy she is good, or if you have seen her work/ been reffered there by a friend/ or use her for other flowers regulalry (these ways are always best to find someone to make your flowers) calla lilles can cost an arm and a leg in summer months, so really to include callas for the price is super duper!! wishing you all the best!! mrs b's xxx

see thats really good prices, but does it cost more for real ones??? and with our reception the hotel are paying for all the flowers and centerpieces on all the tables so well just get them to match, so i think in total itll be 55 for me 90 for bridesmaids 40 for buttonholes so its only going to be £185, £225 if i get flowers for the church. im a flower virgin lol so ive no idea if thats good? x

i agree JLO im still undecided on the church, im wanting to put white chair covers over the chairs at the front but theres another 3 floors of pews so i dont know how much of a difference having flowers there will make, because the church is really big and has alot of detail in the wood work and the ceiling so might not bother with them x

Kaya, i was the same! when you look at wedding mags and theyre like oooooh we paid 700 for flowers or budget 600 for flowers it made me shudder! so im glad to see everyones about the same price xx

    HI JAY
I love your theme, my girls are ava aged 2 at wedding in sept and alisha aged 6, just do what feels right by you, i have had loads of family problems, jelousy and have stopped telling people what i am doing, i wanted wands for my girls but they were toy fighting with them, that doesnt look good at a weding so i opted for baskets because the baby loves handbags and i knew she would carry a basket. my only nievce emily is bridesmaid and i got her a posy for £20 all flowers are to match my vintage theme, dusky rose, ivory and pale green which my mother hates but its my wedding, all silk flowers are from decaflora, enjoy your day babe, i will despite the family rows cos its my wedding!
    xx amanda

    Bumping this ...
    how much is everyone paying?
I've been quoted about £755 for:
    -top table - £30
    -11 tables - £30 each
    -bridal -£50
    -3 bridesmaids - £25 each
    -10 pew ends - £8 each
    -5 button holes -£2.60 each
    -4 corsages- £8.50 each
    -2 standing ped-stools £50 each
    -wedding candle £25
Some roses but mostly gerbera and other white flowers with Ivy
Is this too expensive or sounds about right? (I was expecting more roses for this price)
We said we wanted the flowers to really stand out so the displays are going to be quite big.
    Look forward to your comments,
    Olehx
