i tried to make my own table plan yesterday and it was really awful, lol. i could get any of the edges straight as the card was too thick to cut, i tried a stanley knife and have ended up with not only wonky edges but deep scratches in my table as well :(
where did you get yours from and how much did they cost as buying one is my only option now

i have looked for a guillotine and the cheapest i could find was £30 and i have already spent £20 on crafts and would have to spend that again if i was to do it myself so just looking at buying one un-printed now, i just need a diy kit with everything cut out, lol

Poor you, stanley knives aren't so good for precise cutting like that. We got a gadget off ebay that is for cutting mounts that go inside picture frames, we bought a £5 piece of foam filled thick board from h.craft then a red piece of thick card for a couple of quid to attach on top. Then printed the bits we wanted and cut the holes. I have to say though it looks easier than it is, he did all the cutting and measuring and looked fab but i'd have struggled.
There's a thread "creative seating plan" - you can find it via the search function. Maybe there are some more and totally different ideas for you.

Take a look in asda or tescos for a guillotine, I got a tiny one for less than a tenner (actually already had it in cos need it for my work lol) but they don't have to be that expensive, and the one I have even comes with different blades for different effects on the edge of the paper!
I used that to cut out my card and then stuck it onto a canvas that we had bought from the works for £6-7 x
Now, finally, Mrs Riley

Most local libraries have a guillotine which they allow the public to use... just a thought :-)

Our first attempt was rubbish so maybe that is a good sign your second was better :-)
