I only want to have my 3 year old daughter,as we are getting married in Majorca next year will only be a small intimate ceremony on quite a tight budget really, but my fiance wants to have his niece and his 2 nephews as bridesmaid and pageboys. I dont particularly get along with his sister and her children are quite loud and naughty to say the least......
We cant seem to agree on this...everything else we have either agreed or compromised.....but he wont budge on this one!!! :-(

I've got my cousin whos MOH, my friend whos bridesmaid and my lil girl whose flower girl she'll be 3 and half.. For pageboy I'm having my lil boy by the time the wedding here next July he'll be 10 months old :)
Why don't you say that your a tight budget and can't afford for their outfits if they were in the main bridal party xx

i have 2 bm, fg and page boy.
just speak to h2b and tell him how you feel. he may not realise that you are worried about it.
my nephew is page boy and his mum (my sister) has taught him a song to sing when we are saying our vows...here comes the bride, all fat and white and then something about me slipping over on a banana!! xx
Sometimes less is more when its a small intimate wedding! Last year my brother in law got wed in turkey and he found it hard picking who did what! I have 4 girls and 1 boy and in the end he chose my son as paigeboy and on the other side of family he chose their neice and my girls were still involved in the day but just not the chosen ones lol!
Im having My girls as bridesmaids and flower girls and my son as paigeboy and best mate from school as moh!

I'm having two bridesmaids, my best friend and my brothers GF, and my nephew, who will be 3, as a page boy. My H2B is having one best man but another friend to act as the witness for signing the register as he couldn't make his mind up as to who to pick! If they are 'naughty' children, maybe spend some time with them before the wedding and let them know what you expect from them on the day, for them to behave etc and why it's important that they do, kids respond to being involved and the more you talk to them and know them, the more chance you have of them responding to your wishes. If you include them, for example get the girls to sprinkle petals as you walk down the aisle, or get someone older, for example your mum, to walk down with them and hold their hands, it'll act as a distraction so they don't have the opportunity to mess around :D That way they can be involved but you can rest knowing that they'll behave themselves!

I'm having three bridesmaids - my best mates. No flower girls or pageboys - too many children to choose from and we'd end up upsetting someone, so just easier not to have any! x

Ha well i started with an moh and a flower girl thinking that would be fine but for one reason and another i have managed to accumulate an MOH, 2 adult bridesmaids, 2 young bridesmaids, 1 flower girl and 2 page boys. Not really sure how it happened to be honest :S never mind though... :) xxx

raycheroo - thats exactly why i don't want H2B's sisters kids involved, she has 3 kids and like you i'm trying to keep the pennies down.....
Plus....his sister's kids are very noisy, loud, and naughty. At my daughter's christening last year.....her kids wripped all the table cover off the food table, I had bought two big massive minnie mouse balloons for each end of the table and they were punching them draggin them off as if it was a punch bag or something....
I dont know how I am going to get to the bottom of this one............ xx

I only wanted to have my 2 daughters but H2B wanted his nephews as page boys . His family are paying for their suits though so dont mind to much. No way i could have afforded the extra expense

Hmmm...maybe you should say that you want the people up at the alter to be just your new family, I mean you your h2b and your daughter. That all the ppl standing up there are the ones starting their lives together sorta? Or maybe just that it would feel really special to you if it was just your daughter? I dunno, it's a hard one, cuz to be fair, it's his wedding too, and if it's really important to him then maybe he should have it :/

We're having my best friend, my friend from school and h2b's sister as bridesmaids. Having h2b's best friend as best man, then my brother and h2b's B-i-l as ushers. Our little boy and h2b's little brother as pageboys and the little girl i nannied as flower girl. I've got way 2 many friends to choose from so had to be ruthless. It's weirdly worked out that all our bm's are called Laura and all our ushers are called Matt.
