my mark is not the most romantic of fellas and he likes things plain and simple. It was xmas morning 2009 and i had just come off a night shift so just wanted to get in bed and go to sleep. To my suprise he came upstairs with a cup of tea and a bagel, i turned him away saying i wasn't hungry but he insisted so i decided to eat it, luckily he stopped me before i ate the ring that was hidden inside the bagel, it wasn't my fault i was tired. He laughed at me and then decided to get down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. That day i never got any sleep and nearly fell asleep going back to work that night.

1 year and 1 week together before engagement!

Technically he did..the first night we met LOL, he said he wanted to ask me to marry him, we'd only known each other a week almost.

I said I would love to, but a bit soon, how about we wait til I could come back over, as he lives in Canada & me over here, so when I went home it was heartbreaking to be away from him, it went from 4.5 hours car travel time to 7.5 hours plane flight time instead, we spoke everyday via Skype & spoke about getting engaged.

I asked him if I came over in Feb could we get engaged then he said yes..so I asked him if I could buy him a ring, he said that would be nice because he wanted something he could wear & look at when I was not around.

So I bought his, flew over the 4th of Feb this year, he got his the same day but I got mine officially on 11th Feb & teased him saying technically he'd not asked me..so he asked will you marry me & I replied a thousand times yes which made him laugh :)

Cheesy I know..but we just knew the moment we laid eyes on each other no one else would ever come close, he says I am the first girl to have ever made sense & he still does not know what he did to have found me, he said he waited 16 years to find the perfect girl, makes me melt every time he says that to me :)

we were going out drinking for our mates bdya and he sed to me u want nice or embarrassing so i said nice and on the way to pick mate up he went into the church in the village next to where he lived it was all light up and romantic looking (it was night-time obv lol) which sounds all romantic ish but then he sat in silence for a while then just osrta went well ere u go then, then i got embarrassed and looked at the box and was like wow sparkely box lol then we kinds both put the ring on my finger x

it was in a pub in farnham. 22nd dec 2005 about 10pm- we were watching a friend doing a pub gig when OH got up on the microphone and asked everyone to look at me then he came over and got down on 1 knee and asked me. i said yes but was a bit shocked coz i was only 18 and we had only been together for 4 months!!

My h2b will tell you that he proposed twice before he did,but i didn't class a drunken i want to be with you forever ,or a hungover h2b lying in bed one sunday morning asking me to marry him as real proposals!! But on xmas morning last year we had all finished unwrapping our gifts when he came and knelt down in front of me(i was in an armchair) and he told me that he loved me an that whe had never felt that he could ever love someone enoough to marry them unil i came into his life with my wonderful daughter and turned his life upside down and then gave him the most precious gift of his own daughter,and would i give him the honour of becoming his wife for the rest of our days,he then pulled out beautiful ring that fit me perfectly:0) i think i said yes amongst the tears and our daughter said Well thats lovely ,but i want to play with my sylvanian babys now, as it is christmas you know!! and then it was the phone calls etc and the rest of our day went to pot and we finally ate at about 4 that afternoonxxx

well the 1st time paul proposed he was in the bath and called me upstairs and he'd written marry me across the toilet seat in foam bath letters? there was no ring so i said try again later lol

the official time was xmas eve just gone in front of my mum and step dad and he was very emotional (and a bit of a sap!) gave me a speech about wanting to go to bed next to me every night and wake up next to me every morning!

i thought he was drunk but he was nervous

now we have 4 anniversarys in 4 days over xmas ;
23rd we met
24th engaged

25th - well thats private!
26th officially started dating

My ste proposed to me at my 30th birthday party last year my birthday is the 13th of february and i had my party on the 14th valentines day he got up to make a speech and then got down on one knee and asked me in front of everyone i was well gob smacked but chuffed to bits.

Matt left the ring on the pillow in the morning while he wnt for a bath i woke up and saw the ring just as he walked in dripping wet and in his towel he then got down on one knee and asked me to marry him i said yes straight away x

we were staying at my parents for xmas and on the 23rd he ran down stairs, spoke to my dad then ran up sat me on the end of the bed, then went and got my 7 year old niece in to watch (no idea why) then asked me and gave me my beautiful ring, he couldnt wait till xmas day. and all my niece said was my mummy got a proper diamond for her ring...who said mine wasnt :(

we had spoken about doing it for over a year but hed never asked me offically.

and my dads response when he asked for my hand was if you really want to then i suppose so. thanks dad.
well they know we are serious about each other and we do have a 15 month old boy together so we plan to make a go of it with or without his consent but a bit more enthusiasum would of been nice.
