    Hi all,

Just looking into sorting my hen do with my chief organiser (my cousin)...

I have always said I'd want to go abroad for the weekend as I went on my friends and it was so much fun..but I don't want everyone to spend a small fortune on it.

I have recently seen one I really like in this country, going to Brighton on the Friday, Saturday night Dreamboys and dancing, then come back Sunday or Monday... We would all be in a big house and it all works out about £180-£200 with travel and food and stuff.

Do you think I'd find it cheaper to go abroad for the weekend or do the Brighton thing?

My hen do would be in July...

You would need to do your research into flights, hotel, food, etc and then weigh up the difference. xxx

my OH arranged his mates stag do (only 4 of them) to Amsterdam and they went Tues - Thurs, as weekday was cheaper anyway, when he went to book flights they had a flash sale so from £120 down to £60, and the hotel was £100 or something so only cost him 160 and spending money!? Or something like that?! Then the groom had a drink or something in the local pub with others when they were back one weekend...

Depends where when and how you are going, weekdays will be cheaper than weekends, out of peak season will obviously be cheaper, and also where! and what you plan on doing there! and also how many people!!
By sounds of Dreamboys and dancing am I assuming correct you want a nice girly hen weekend!? I'm sure you can get fun in the sun at not too pricey deals! but definitely do some research and weigh up the differences and also work out what YOU want to do more!! xx

I suppose it depends on what your hens would be willing to pay and if they are happy going abroad. I would price it all up and then give them all some options xxx

I personally wouldnt want to spend that much on someones hen night, but thats just my opinion...I'm doing a hotel stay which includes a live music restaurant with a 3-course meal, accoustic set whilst eating, and then livelier set once meal is over, you get waiter service with your drinks and its costing my friends a total of £67.50 including a stay at a J*rys Inn... Im having my hen night on the 30th March and I get married on the 13th April...I wouldnt personally want my friends to have to pay so much money for my hen night..and then not be able to afford the evening reception drinks at my wedding... lol xxx

When we started looking at my hen do we were planning on going to magaluf. It does work out cheaper if you go mid week then over the weekend. For 3 nights self catering accomodation, return flights and transfers it was around £180 per person. Which was pretty good.
In the end though i decided to have my hen do over here :) x

Ok I'm going to risk being annoying here, but shouldn't the rest of your hens have a say in where they want to go and how much money they want to spend? Don't forget that weddings and hen parties are an expense for them as well.

I went to a hen do once where it wasn't until I got there that I was told I had to stay overnight which meant I had to give them £40 for my share of the room. I was also told 5 minutes before we got there that I had to give the MOH £20 as she had booked a stripper. Then once there I was told I had to put money in the kitty to help pay for the brides meal, drinks, bed for the night etc.

To top it off when we got to the hotel room to get ready I was then told that I had to pay this girl £15 because we were all to wear a French maids outfit and thats how much they costed one of the bridesmaids. I stuck the French maids outfit on and refused to stump up the £15 as A) I hadn't got it having been stripped of all my spending money without notice and B) by this stage I was totally pissed off and wanted to go home. I knew that day I would have to buy the bride drinks so I had brought extra money but it had all been gazumped by the bridesmaids before we even got to the disco. So at the end of the night I took off the French Maids outfit and handed it back to the girl who had bought them. By the way the brides MOH was my next door neighbour and she never once thought of nipping next door to tell me the things I would be expected to pay for, nor asked if I had the money to pay for them.

Sorry but after that experience I would suggest to brides that hens should be asked what their spending limit should be. Only fair.

We are having the hen do here
My friend has arranged it all with my help
All sorted through a company, the girls were all informed before it was booked as to ho much it would cost & what they get for there money
All have paid a £10 deposit to secure the booking and the party boat for the evening as well as the day activity & hotel

I would never dream of doing what happened to Sonia above. That is awful!

All girls know that it is just drinks money they need to bring with them as the package includes dinner, hotel with breakfast & club entry
