    Hi all,

Me and my partner are looking to have a gothic fairytale themed wedding but am slowly running out of ideas that have been done several times over by people i know. Any ideas on how to make things more unique to my wedding?

I know a great CD you can buy to have as background music (its called gothic wedding collection or something) I found a great cake I want made for my wedding (pic in profile). I've seen some vampire cake toppers in my search online and theres 2 great sites for gothic wedding dresses which I'll put on your wall.

I'll come back when I think of some more ideas :D

You could always pick up more on the whole velvet/lace/victoriana side of the gothic theme rather than the bats, vampires and stuff like that?

Your dress ideas look fantastic - particularly love the deep red one :-)

You could have decorative black metalwork kind of things for the centrepieces - trying to think how to describe what I mean - kind of like the decorative ironwork of gates and things, but more delicate. Or for a fairytale type theme, have decorations that are more feathers, butterflies, silvery twigs, lacey things, instead of more structured flowers.

Don't really have much planned at the moment as I am constantly changing my mind about things lol. The only things that are certain is the dress, which is the one with the wings in my pictures, the Gothic Victorian/ fairytale theme and my shoes, I plan on having a pair of Black and Burgundy cowboy boots made. Also the theme colours are Black and Burgundy and I have found a place I would like the wedding to be at, but at the moment it is uncertain what the budget is.

Thanks for all the ideas so far
    xx

An excellent theme. A lot of goth lolita & Victoriana items and clothing can be found on the net. As for the rest of the wedding i'm not sure. Having black table cloths etc.? Sounds very good so far though :D My MIL2B got married in Vegas but had a gothic wedding 8 years ago. Xx

have you thought about the Pagan gothic element? check wiccanchat or other such webs for more details but they do lovly things that might be a bit different.
Have you looked into the fine lace around during victorian times? you needn't be "Haloween"Gothic; look at Gothic archetecture or maybe the subtly of gothic nature (victorians, Queen V herself, infact, post Albert) Good luck & Blessed Be <3 x

We are looking into bringing some Pagan elements into it as my partner is a pagan.
Would love to have the whole horse and carriage as well but not sure if I hire one in black that would be fairytale looking.

    Thanks all

    xx

Perhaps the carriage could be dressed up a little to give it a more fairytale look without losing the gothic theme :) xx

With those colours you have plenty of scope you can break up hard straight lines with darken rose petals and as its winter now or even next winter as you have more time you could go to the woods dressed as gothic faries and take pictures they look really good with bare trees. You could use the pictures to decorate the venue or for invites etc. Venue lights could be dimmed lightly with beads hanging down to look magical. Glitter and coffetti labeled fairy dust coloured coorinated. Black wands for bridemaids and flower girls the list can be endless. If you let us know what ideas you like we could probs come up with more along those lines
