Hi all. H2b and me has made the desision to put our wedding back yet another year so we're now thinking of getting married in 2013. At first i didnt want to get married in 2013 as 13 is a horrible number but then last night it came to me to get married on friday the 13th but i really wanted to get married in june so got h2b to look at the calender and see if friday the 13th lands in june but sadly is a saturday. What does everyone think of getting married on friday the 13th?

im supersticiuous so probably wouldnt do it in case something went wrong on the day or the marriage worse again

I dont believe in being bad luck, but I bet you would get that day for a really good price.
I quite liked it but i looked at the dates and it would be either a september or december wedding which i wasnt happy about cos id freeze lol

My venue that we wanted told us that its the same price no matter what day you have your wedding on so they prob wouldnt give us a discount cos we were gonna go for a thursday or a sunday wedding in 2012 before we realised there is no way we could afford to get married then so hence moving it to 2013

Hmmm maybe we could go for Saturday the 13th of June instead and at least our anniversary would land on a friday at some point but its not the same superstition related lol

I might be very wrong...usually am, haha! But i thought that 13 was supposed to be lucky/unlucky (depends how you look at it) as there were 12 disciples and jesus made the 13th :/ anyone else heard that? xx

One theory states that it is a modern amalgamation of two older superstitions: that thirteen is an unlucky number and that Friday is an unlucky day.

Ok ive changed my wedding date on here to june 13th 2013 instead of 10th of june 2011(the 1st date) and also the 17th of June 2012 (the second date) but need to talk to h2b i suppose lol

our friends got married on friday 13th november 2009 because they first got together on 13th november 1999 (10 years and 1 babyand another on the way later) it meant something to them but in reality its a number! i'm superstitious, but whats unlucky for one is lucky for another xxx

i dont think i would get married on a friday for people getting the day off work, so wouldnt be able to be married on friday the 13th, but i dont think that superstition would put me off, if i did decide to get married on a friday, i have lived in two houses that were both number 13 and that wasnt too bad, people have birthdays on the 13th and dont seem to have bad luck if being born on friday the 13th :) x

It was most definitely the happiest day of my life.

I would like to see if it would be cheaper to get married on friday the 13th but i dont think it would be. Ive been told by a few companies that if we got married on a thursday or a sunday it wouldnt be any cheaper cos like with the photographer and the videographer they said it would still take the same amount of time to take and edit the photos

I don't believe in luck good or bad bad luck that happens on the 13th is the same as bad luck that happens every other day of the year but we focus on it more because there is a number that we associate with bad luck.

The number 13's always been pretty lucky for me, actually, but probably wouldn't get married then on account of the OH being extremely weird and wonderful when it comes to things he believes in xD
I don't see a problem with it at all, but it's a shame pushing your wedding back means you can't do it then. If it's finances that're the problem, have you tried entering more competitions? Apparently, there are loads in bridal mags!
