I've been thinking about photos on Facebook. I've seen a lot of people complaining about guests posting pictures on Facebook and it got me to thinking.
What do you think of having someone take a great picture of us with our own phone cameras during the drinks reception/photo posing session and then each posting it to our respective Facebooks? That way we get in before almost anyone else will have a change to post a picture of us.

i like that idea, we'll be doing that too as i have family in new zealand and dubai who cant make it over anymore so it means they can see us on our wedding day still :D xx

I'm actually asking the register to ask the guests not to post any pics on there and to use our wedding website.

I'm quite happy for my friends to put them up, but I would expect them to ask me first! lol. When we went to Adam's cousins wedding last year, I asked her if she minded and she said she wanted me to put them up so she could steal the good ones! I don't mind, I'd like to see the photos other people take as there may be a gem in there but I would expect them to wait for me to put some up first!
i am more than happy to have them put up, my privacy is for friends only so no one else can see them x
soon to be Mrs Anderson!!!!!

I'm asking people not to take photos during the ceremony, but I always love seeing everyone else's so I'd be quite happy for guests to share photos of us any time after the ceremony.

I don't mind them sharing pics in fact I want them to do it but would rather have it on the wedding website rather than facebook in which I have people on there from school and work in which I don't really want to share personal moments with.

When my friend got married she put her status on facebook asking people to please wait till she had put her official wedding pics on before anyone else added theirs. It worked really well and everyone respected her wishes x

gosh i hadnt even thought of that - thanks xx good post!...there will be a few guests at our wedding, who unfortunately use face book as an online diary/timetable!...grrrr i think i would be a bit gutted if someone posted piccies before kev or i did...after all its our day, so we really should be the first to do so...if we even decide to at all!
CommentAuthormelvis
friends of ours who recently got married asked us to tag them in all our pics when we put them on and they asked all guests to do this so they had hundreds of additional photos in a more natural nature and of guests which is a good idea. also id taken pics of cake, table decs, placenames and seating plans and she really apprecciated that id taken the time to take a pic of that and she could show people on facebook easily! x
Cant wait to be Mrs Melissa Mooney!!!

I dont have a problem with people putting pictures on facebook. I think it is nice that they have taken the time out from the celebrations to be snap happy and as long as there is no pictures of me upside down or summit I am quite happy.

I DO NOT want people with phones or cameras during the ceremony... we've got a photographer to do that and don't want any Uncle Bob scenarios tyvm! Once we get to the reception, don't mind people checking their phones or updating etc but definitely don't want to see people gazing into their phones all night - if I can bear to be parted from my beloved BlackBerry, it won't kill my guests either!
We're thinking of asking the guests to put their photos onto Flickr, instead of onto fbook and might even be setting up a laptop so we can upload them straight away for everyone who won't be there, and also means we can veto any awful photos. Not paying for everything for some muppet with an iPhone to upload a badly taken photo and make all my hard work look like crap! Luckily most of my friends are photographers, including one of my BMs so I know that I'll have a lot of decent photographs from her and our main photographer!
Got married 27th June and blessed on July 5th 2012

I am going for a full out FB photo ban. Nothing to do with ugly pics. It is just the one day I dont want to share with the whole world.

I had a bit of a disaster with a snapper when I was a burlesque performer.
I did a show at Pride Scotia (the biggest gig I ever did with over 1000 people watching) and there wasn't really much of a dressing room backstage; just a tent about 5m from the back of the stage tent. Someone caught me just as I came off stage in nothing but nipple tassels and the first I knew of it was when my mum's friend (who's gay) congratulated me on my great picture in ScotsGay. I HATED the pictures, but after screaming about it for a few days, I decided to just accept it.
There are pictures out there of us that we think are unflattering but that everyone else loves. Since I learned to relax and accept that I've been a much happier person.
