We are having a blessing and its not that much cheaper than a wedding, just a few quid knocked off. I think it depends on the church and vicar though as I've known others to get it much cheaper.

We are going to the town hall for our legal bits with my partents as witnesses (£80, would have been £700 if done at the venue) then having a blessing at the chapel in the venue (it's no longer licenced for weddings, and the venue is an old monistary/castle) and the blessing is £275.
It suits us well, we will be celebrating the blessing as our wedding day as that is whats important, the legal bit is just a formality. We will be saying our personalised vows and exchanging rings during the blessing. I think its a lovely idea, but i may be biased!
