    Hello All,

H2b & I haven't decided what kind of ceremony we'll be having yet - my local church @ home is gorgeous, the vicar is lovely and relaxed and I used to go to Sunday school there but as I've grown up I've stopped going and gone off organised religion really, I like to believe in a God/entity but with everything that happens around the world I've just stopped taking part if that makes sense... and htb feels the same - so anyway we're not sure if a church or civil ceremony is for us.

I just wanted to ask if anyone knows how you go about having a Church blessing if you have a civil ceremony? I know our relatives would prefer a church wedding, but if we decide it isn't for us I'd like to have a blessing, I know they'd appreciate that :) Plus a lot of the civil venues we've been looking at are next door to churches, so that could be a nice extra in the day for those who wanted to watch it.

    Cheers :) xx

We are having a civil and then a blessing in the church (on the sat) and all we have been asked to do is give a donation but they don't stipulate how much the donation should be. You certainly don't have to pay for any legal fees but some may charge you for heating or extras such as flowers, bells, choir and organ etc.
