This idea might sound odd to some people, but I really don't think I want a hen night.

I don't drink, so the idea of a big night out is completely out of the question, as I really wouldn't enjoy it.
Don't want to do a spa day, as its too expensive, so would really struggle to pay for it.
My bridesmaids have been rubbish with trying to organise it, and just keep asking me what were doing for it, instead of coming up with ideas between them (you know as part of the bridesmaid roll)
Would love to do some kinda of adventure weekend, but my friends would hate it. So wouldn't be worth doing that either.

Feel like I just want to say i'm not having one, and hopefully people will just accept it.

But does anyone else just not want one? and whats everyone planning on doing? Might get some ideas, and decide I maybe do want one x

It doesn't sound odd to me! I'm the same in not really wanting a hen night. I'm not a drinker so a boozy weekend away would be wasted on me! I think i'm just going to end up going away for a night with my BM (my sister) and then close friends and just having a nice meal.

A hen night is all part of your wedding so it should also be what you want to do! :) xx

    Some ideas for you....

My sister-in-law-to-to-be is marrying my brother in April and she doesn't drink and didnt want a big hen do so we are going out for a Italian instead at the local and will do party games and all dressing up. The Italian do a set meal price of £18.95pp so not too expensive and easy to organise.

My cousin got married in October and didnt want a big hen do either but she loves the outdoor so we meet at the hills and went for a walk but with all the dogs and little children (big ones were at school) and gave her tasks to do. Like she had to wear a nuns outfit and sing the hills are alive, do a 3 legged race, wheelbarrow race, etc... loads of stuff and was sooo fun and giggled so much but not expensive at all and easy to organise.

I on the other hand have no clue about my hen do as surprise by my bridesmaid however i did stipulate i didnt want it alcohol themed or too expenise so we will wait and see.

I'm not really bothered about it one way or the other, no one has mentioned having one to me so I dont think I'll be bothering. H2b is'nt having a stag do so I dont feel i'm missing out.

My friends are planning on organising mine, to be honest I wouldn't miss it if I didn't have one. I don't drink so that's not really calling out to me, I'm not into doing anything spa like either because its expensive... my friends were talking strippers and all sorts!! I'm laying out some ground rules and then they can do what they want! I'm not that bothered...

For my family (my sisters are going to be bridesmaids and they're all quite young) I'm just going to have a meal I think, invite my mum and the girls and perhaps dress up for it.

Just wish my H2B wasn't having such an amazing stag do, I'm so jealous lol.

Like the idea of having a joint one, but The BM has arranged an amazing stag do for H2B, so wouldn't want to ruin their plans. Might just see if I can go along too lol x

Same here! I not bothered about it all. My mil has actually organised mine and I think it's a spa day in a local hotel with a meal and drinks on the night. I'm not into that at all een though they sell to think I am and I know for a fact it's people I wouldn't want to do it with like my h2b's cousins etc who I don't even speak to! It's 8 weeks away and I'm really dreading it. If I had to have or I'd just go for a meal with a few close people xx

i dont think i want mine now cos to me it sounds boring. sister is planning a alice in wonderland theme tea party as i dont really drink much and i have to dress as alice. but i compared it with what i did for her and h2b thinks shes making hers better. we went to a chinese restaurant that did karaoke then i got vip tickets for a couple of clubs and was a great night. just think i maybe want to go out for a meal somewhere a few drinks some silliness then home....xxx

I definitely don't want a big boozy dressed up proper "hen night" with all the L plates and garters and all that kerfuffle, I hate fancy dress with a passion, most of us don't really drink anymore anyway! Long way away for me, but nearer the time I'll keep my eyes open on some of the deal websites for spa days, think that would be nice, not too expensive for everyone either. Or just a nice meal in a restaurant. Alternatively, just have a regular night out in our favourite pub and club, but that wouldn't be anything particularly special! H2b is the same, to be honest we're probably just gonna go to our local with our mates and have a couple!

ME!!! I don't want one either!! I'd much rather have a little pamper session at home, have a takeaway and a bottle of wine, good book or film on the tv, curled up on the sofa with the duvet - that's me sorted!!
Think H2b wants a stag doo ... I will be making as much noise as possible the morning after!!!

I absolutely didn't want one - I find it a bit ridiculous after so many years and a child together - "one last night?" wtf?
That all said - the more I read about it and the more I thought about it I do want some recognition - as you say it is part of the experience. We also couldn't all afford a spa day, I don't drink much and with passionate conviction - I will not have some typical dressed up tacky hen night with willy straws, limousines or any other awfulness.

My family is now coming over to the UK a few days earlier than expected - so I think we just all go down the pub and have a bit of a cheer and drink. I am happy if everyones together - and to be honest: my child is 3 3/4 by the time of the wedding and I've been out twice and a few times to help out working. I bloody deserve a night out sans child.

Doesnt sound odd to me, thats kind of how me and h2b were thinking until we decided on a joint do with all our mutual friends. We ended up doing laser tag, in the woods, in the snow. It cost £20 each and we had a 3 hour session and followed it with an optional meal afterwards. We reserved space at a pub that did carvery as well as pub grub, there was something to fit all budgets. Some people came just for the laser tag then went home, some met us in the pub afterwards for food or even for a quick drink, and some stayed for the whole thing. We were home and ready to crash out by 10 oclock, extreamly satisfied after a really fun day. 34 people in total came out to play with more joining us for the meal.

H2b and I didnt see the point in going out seperately, we have been friends in the same circle for over a decade so to split up our group of friends would be wierd. Also neither of us were very interested in a boozy night out.

nope, I was exactly the same! People kept saying I had to have a boozy night, complete with L plates, feather boa and cowboy hat etc. but I would seriously HATE that! So instead I organised it, we're going to london on the train, staying overnight and we're going to see a show and do some shopping. I'm now really looking foward to it because its something I will enjoy, a nice sophisticated night out (with a few cocktails I'm sure!) with my good friends.
What about something like we're doing, would you fancy something along those lines? xxxx

One of my friends suggested to me about a coach trip (as we both love the show thought it was pretty good idea for me) and had a look on a website, and there is one to cadburys world, stay over night at a hotel with dinner and breakfast included, then go to a safari the next day, then travel home. Which sounds pretty good to me, and it was pretty cheap for it all in. Plus means if people want to go out for a few drinks on the night they can do, think i'll just go out for one and sneak off back to bed lol x

that sounds like a great idea - why don't you go for it? I know my friends would have done anything I asked them to as they just wanted to be involved, but they're all really pleased I've gone for the london trip option as its something we'll all genuinely enjoy. You do what you want to, I'm sure they'll come for you :o)

I'm planning to use my 14year old sister as a good excuse to not have to go out on a bender. My ideal hen would be a mini spa session with my girls, afternoon tea and cakes and then a pyjama party with a few bottles of wine! True girly fun without it having to get messy!

I didn't have one and hubby didn't have a stag night either. Tbh none of us wanted one - and we tend to drink with the same friends anyway so we prefer to just have 'normal' nights out.

The biggest thing that put me off was how many drunken, dressed up hen/stag parties I've seen around town (and other towns) and how tacky I thought they looked. I definitely didn't want to be like that lol.
