    hi all

im still having lots of trouble finding a venue, everywheres so pricey! so do you rekon you could get rid of wedding breakfast, as they are a big chunk of the price?

You don't have to. We were originally going to get married at 3.45 so we could have the ceremony and photos and then a break before going straight into the evening reception with buffet. We weren't going to have a wedding breakfast as it would have just added to the expense. We've changed it now as we're getting married in Gretna, earlier - and having a wedding breakfast because we've invited less people. If you get married later in the day you could just have a buffet or go straight into the evening reception to save costs.

My friend got married at 3pm then we went straight to the reception (after about an hrs photo's) which was at a room hired out and there was a buffet about 7pm, it was nice, there not the kind of people to have a sit down meal and just had a baby so couldn't afford it. I kind of admire that because my wedding breakfast is costing £6,000 and its practically to feed a load of people I hardly see but that's my choice, she was really happy about her day so we'll see if paying £6000 more make me any happier lol.

We're getting married in the afternoon (around 3-4 not sure yet) and then 1 hour later everyone is eating from a buffet, the chocolate fountain we've booked is also being used for nibbles until 10pm. All this combined means we knocked off quite a chunk from original budget.
