I'm catholic and my fiance isn't baptised at all. not spoken to the priest but we have to get special permission from the bishop to marry. also, the marriage will be held outwith mass (ie no communion) and we wont enter the sacrament of marriage because one person cant enter it on their own, n u have to have had the others, baptism, communion, confirmation before you can enter the marriage sacrament. i was worried cos my mum said surely thats just a blessing but its not its a full marriage. obv thats catholic marriage so I dont know if that helps!! i think its pretty much be same across the board tho, aslong as one of u is u can both be married in the church...i think they would rather u did that than a baptised person marrying in a civil ceremony! xxx

found this for you this is c of e

Can my child be married in church if he/she is not christened? Yes: in England everyone has the legal right to be married in the parish church of the parish in which they live (and in the district Register Office of their district). This right is irrespective of any religious views and any christening ceremonies. However, there is no automatic right to marriage in any other church, and again this is irrespective of any christening.

You can get married in a Church of England/Church of Scotland church without being christened but you will need to be christened if you want to get married in a Catholic church.

You can even get married in church now if you are divorced which was a big no no a few years ago so I'm sure you will be able to find a way :) x

I was christened therefore I am able to marry in a catholic church as my h2b is a catholic. If I hadn't been christened / baptised then I would have had to go through a lot more to get married.

I think for the CoS as long as one of you are christened then it's okay, as you are promising to raise your family in the faith of that church.

You don't have to be christened to be married in C of E but you either have to live in the parish or have family connections with the church if you are not in the parish. (you need to have proof of this) If you don't have a connection with the church outside your parish in anyway then you need to attend regularly for at least 6 months before you can get married there.
