I keep seeing everyone talking about their rehearsals, but i've not thought... We're getting married in a hotel, and was just wondering do we do rehearsals in them? Or is it just church weddings that you do them for.. Cause my family are Soooo unorganised, that is we don't have a rehearsal, then I can see it going terribly wrong!! x

...i don't believe there are rehearsals for hotel weddings...it is like getting hitched in the registry office. do you have a Master of Ceremonies for your day..if you do I suspect he or the wedding planner will be briefing you on the way to go...just TELL your bestman/mum/dad whomever yo herd all your guests into the room your wedding is happening in and tell them 'not too move!'...then you make your entrance!

    Oki dokes, Thanks x
And yes We will have either a planner or a master of ceremonies, but we've got ages left, so I thought i'd ask the experts (you lot) hehe. I'm hoping they can all pull together for just 1 day though, lol. All they need to do is turn up and look good! There's only really my Dad and Nephew that are much involved, My dad's giving me away and my nephew's a page boy. So fingers crossed...

Thanks Tiggs, I'll be asking when we book the venue, which will hopefully be soon, as it's a very popular place, hence booking 4 years prior!! x

Hi! We are getting married in a hotel. I have booked the room to be set up by the hotel 2 days before for the rehersal (they are not charging me for this) and we will be having our rehersal dinner there. I cannot imagine any of us knowing what to do if we don't do this. It does not seem to have been a problem for any of the venues we spoke to.
    Hope this helps.x

It's not customary to do so but we're thinking maybe the week before the wedding we'll get together to have a nice big meal in reception venue and have a "light walk through" just for our piece of mind

Good point - I hadn't thought of this. I sort of like the idea of not having a rehearsal, so it's all totally new on the day!

I'm not too worried about mistakes because it's only our family and friends there...I just think it will feel less special if have done a run-through in normal clothes....

Ceremony will be held at 2pm followed by a champagne & canapes reception whilst were off doing the photos, sit down meal about 4.30ish with evening guests arriving for 7.30. Not got down to the finer details as its still a long way off. Thinking live band, lots of dancing can't wait xx

Sounds great. If i get my way we will be

Having a morning ceremony and then picnic in the castle grounds, also having a hand fasting ceremony.

Then we are all camping, so we will be having a bbq, and a party. Planning on setting fireworks off once it gets dark. We will all be playing games in the evening, with the kids before they go to bed. xx

I think we'll end up spending about that much.. We've added rough prices of so many things, not everything and we've ended up at 12k already! including the honeymoon though, so that's not bad! :P x
