Hi ladies, the one thing that is really annoying me that I can't get my head round is how to do our DIY photobooth... our venue has a spare room that we are going to use and we've got all the props and everything, but I can't decide how to take the actual photos!
Plan A before we really started getting into the groove of wedding planning was to buy a polaroid camera, which was a great idea until we realised how expensive the film is!!!
Plan B was to just ask everyone to use their own mobile phones to take pics/selfies and then share them via social media so we can also see copies and then print them out to make a scrap book etc, but then we thought the likelihood of us seeing every pic was very slim and it's also a lot of faff, also not all our guests will have social media.
Plan C was to use our own digital camera that we already have so that all the pics would be in one place and all we'd have to do is download them. We thought we could get a selfie stick to make it easier but since discovered that our digital camera doesn't have the capability for the remote shutter release and it also doesn't have the appropriate port to actually put it onto a selfie stick in the first place.
Plan D was to see if anyone had a spare smartphone that we could borrow as we know we could easily get a selfie stick that would work then... but no one seems to have a phone we can use.
Plan E.... Anyone?!?! Hopefully I've missed a simple and easy solution :-)

Do you have a tablet you can use? Most these days can be used with a remote shutter but understand not wanting to leave it lying about

Forgot to mention I had also thought about that, but my main concern would be the leaving it around... We're not inviting anyone that we hardly know and have any reason not to trust, but it's something quite valuable that we use quite a lot so I feel a bit uncomfortable. It is still an option though I suppose...
Can you get tripods for ip@ds?? Then could face it so people can see themselves on the screen and use a remote shutter...

Good idea Emily, I think all the 99p ones are just for spares/repairs though. But I could keep an eye out for cheap phones being sold off, we literally only need it for the camera.
It's a no to the disposables - not a fan of them at all, plus we wouldn't be able to get the pics on social media which we want to be able to do.

How spooky... OH has just text me to say his dad says he has a spare phone we could use. So might be back onto the smartphone/selfie stick idea after all.

Fantastic! You wont even need to put a sim card in it as you can take the pics on it as normal and then put them on social media when you get to wifi

What about a portable little printer' I think you can get one for like £20? Or my dad's making us a selfie booth and he's set up a programme on his laptop where you can upload to social media. xxxx

We're making a DIY photobooth for our wedding, and have decided to hire a professional camera out which we're gonna position on a tripod so that everyone will be in shot, you can hire a remote alongside it so you just push a button when you want the picture to be taken. We'll then upload for everyone.
You can search for hiring a camera and they're really inexpensive. I think overall all of the equipment is gonna less than £100 to hire

How about just using the 10 second timer on your own digital camera? Set it up on a tripod, mark out the area which if people stand in it they'll be in shot, then all someone has to do is press the shutter and they'll have 10 seconds (plenty of time) to get into place.

Ive actually seen a few ideas for this on pintrest. If you type in diy photobooth, but a few of them seem like more trouble than theyre worth. you could buy a bluetooth printer so everyone can take pix on their own phone and send it to the printer. You just need to make surd younhave pleanty ink and photo paper.
If you wanted to go the social media route you coukd ask everyone to post them and use a special hashtag ie #bride/grooms names and date. That will make it so much easier to track down all the pix
I also know there are apps available that allow you tontake pix through the app. It does mean everyone has to download the app to their phone though but all your snaps will be in one place
For props you could always run down to your local poundshop/ebay

We've got plenty of props, I was just struggling with how to take the photos. I didn't want everyone using their own phones as we have a selfie stick and it would have been too much effort for everyone to connect their phones to it etc. We have an old ip0n3 that we're using now so all pics will be in one place and we can then do with them what we wish.
