have you looked on the show off your shoes thread?? cuz i think i remember one or two ladies had pictures up of self-blinged (if that's a word!!) shoes, so they'd be the ones to ask :)

What is the upper made from on your shoes?
The best glue to use is Gem=tak
If you your shoes are not leather, suede or a very delicate material you could also use a kandi can hotfix wand tool, or similar you get them on bay of e quite cheaply.
I think £35 is quite reasonable actually. It all depends on the crystals you use as Swarovski or obviously quite expensive, compared to the lead crystal or acrylic ones.

If you use hotfix crystals in swarovski or rhinestones theres no need for adhesive, they come with their own adhesive backing which melt and adhere to surface on heating. A lot quicker and tidier than glue.

i'm paying £32 for mine to be done so its around the right ball park I've sent mine off on monday so as soon as they come back i'll pop them on the shoes thread. She does acrylic ones for £30 +£2 recorded P&P but the swarovski are more like £60-£70 and she will do as much or as little to the shoes for the price.

she also mentioned that sation is the better material for her to fix the crystals to

There is a photo of mine on my profile, I did them with 4 sizes of crystal, 2mm, 3mm, 4mm and 5mm. I used gem-tac glue and a gem picker. They are made of suedette. I am currently doing my bridesmaids ones, they are sating pumps which I am doing with clear crystals.

They are all in flat pumps with clear crystals. They are all taller than me (I'm only 5'1) so they need to be in flats as 2 of them are 5'10! Yea, he did very well with the ring.

It took me about a week to do mine, working a few hours a day, so it really didn't take long and was quite easy, you just need time and patience!

    Thanks for this Sian!!

Really should have looked before i posted my thread. Oops!!

Have you got your shoes and made a start on adding the bling?! Would be good to see your progress or hear how you're going on.

I've ordered my shoes today and bought crystals and gem-tac from the bay. Will be something to look forward to doing once they arrive. Not DIY anything so far for the wedding so this will be a little project for me to work on and it will be good to have something to focus on to take my mind off everything else, I just hope i've got the patience. Ha! Ha! Will start with the pleated front of the pumps and see how i get on with that to decide whether i carry on or not.

I love this idea of bling on your shoes. I love anything sparkly!!! I really love Peaseblossom idea of coving the whole shoe. I was wanting to get my shoes dyed to the same colour as BM dresses but think I would prefer to add the sparkle instead.
But I don't know if it would look nice with my dress. My colour is cadburys purple and I would love a lace dress and don't think sparkly purple shoes would look rite with the dress!!!

    I did my own:
    My Shoes
    My Shoes

And i literally just started in one corner and just went along..there was no logic or routine but i was told a very good tip...especially when came to the smaller ones, use a cocktail stick..dip it in the glue and leave it to try, then when its gone tacky its really good at picking up the small gems... even though I had a gem setter the head of it was soooo much bigger than my smallest gems.

Then when it came to the other shoe i did the size by size, so had them lying next to each other and placed the 5 big gems in the same place as the other shoe and took it from there. Once i got into the swing of things only took me about 4hrs in total, if that.

I even used nail varnish remover on the sole to remove the inking/label & was so worried i'd screw it up. Just patience, steady hand and take your time, breathe and enjoy it!

Good luck & let us know how u get on.

    xx
