Hey ladies, how we all doing with diet and fitness? I started my diet again yesterday as I have put on a stone over the last year!!!! So disappointed in myself. Anyway can't decide whether to do more zumba classes or whether to go back to curves. I already do zumba on a thursday night but want to try other classes and then curves is good too as I used to go there and lost a stone and my shape changed doing that but its the cost each month coming out my bank that i'm thinking of. What are you all doing for your health/fitness and what do you think is best zumba or curves?xx

Hiya not sure if Curves is the same everywhere but when I did it we were limited to 30mins and even tho I lost about a stone, and I made quite a few friends, I got a bit bored of going round the equipment every time.
I am doing gym at the moment and starting early morning swims with my son, have to just get some courage for the first time in a swim costume for a while.
I love Zumba tho! I have it on xbox kinect but not done it as a class. xx

I used to go to curves. I found it really welcoming and i was able to stayed motivated. Where i went the same group of ladies went every day at the same time and we go used to seeing each other and chatting as we worked our way round the equipment. Yes you are doing a 30 minute work out, but it is designed to suit eveyone so that every gets a go on each piece of equipment. It is designed to burn fat into lean muscle at a sensible pace. The is curves plus in some places as well, which is a fob you put into the machines as you go round and this helps to monitor your own personal progress and push you harder like a personal trainer. It is well worth doing, they measure you in inches and ody fat not just in weight so you can really see how you are getting on. However, it is designed to be slow and steady and easy to keep up, if you want very quick noticeable results zumba may be better.
I bought the zumber game on the wii and attend a gym for 30 minutes 3x a week (our local curves closed down :( ) and swim once or twice a week. Mix with all round watching what i eat, i have now lost a stone and a half since february.

I started the zumba toning as well but stopped that after 3mths coz it totally changed my shape and not in a good way! I felt really butch especially when i looked down at my thighs! Curves changed my shape in a good way so gona give it a go again.xx

I work for a ladies only gym similar to curves, but we don't just have the 30 minute workout, we do fab abs classes, medicine ball classes, kettlebell classes, fitball classes and dumbell classes. We can also offer personal training sessions to target certain areas, we also have vibration plates and couple of bikes and steppers.

If you can find something similar so combines cardio and toning and also stops you getting bored. I get bored in a traditional gym and hate all the lycra clad women who don't sweat, which is why I enjoy this type of work out.

    xx

I have tried zumba and found it a really fun way to excerise, especially as I am somebody who hates the boring gym :( But now I've started tai-bo, which is unbelievable, I go twice a week, and am starting a yoga course as well in 2 weeks time. Before joing any clubs or gyms defintely try a tai-bo class, it is high intensity cardio, but it also teaches you great defense moves and certainley improves your strength. I am asthmatic and by doing tai-bo twice a week for 4 months my lung capicity has significantly improved and I feel great for it! :)

I love Zumba, I've been going once a week for about 6 weeks and I already feel fitter. Plus I have a waist now!

Can't wait until the day I become Mrs. Johnson :)

I recently started Zumba and I love it. It's doing wonders for my stamina, although it hasn't done much for my weight, but its early days really.
I hate the gym, so dance has always been great for me. I just wish I had access to some decent local street dance classes, then again I am a street dancer so I can always do that at home. Haha. Sometimes its good to have a class so you don't slack off when you're tired.

You could always try doing some adult ballet classes too, if there are any dance schools near you that provide them. They're good for working the legs.
